Videos Everywhere!

I never made a formal announcement but as many of you have noticed, the course pages have had the "Photos" tab renamed to "Media" and you can now embed youtube and vimeo links related to the course right into the page. A lot of courses already have some cool videos which is awesome to see.

In other video news, last week I released a trial run of a general video sharing area (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/video.php) for the site. It seems to work well (in addition to being quite successful so far) so it will remain as a part of the site. You can access it through the "Community" dropdown menu in the forums or the new "More!" dropdown on the right side of the main menu.

Also, if you have suggestions for more video categories let me know and I can add them.

Is there anyway to make the rating dropdown a little more obvious. It's hard to find for non-rated vids.

It has the "Rate Video" link right there.. seems fairly obvious to me?

I like this! I'm having a little trouble with a link. I managed to get our News station to come down and do a story on our course. I'd like to add it in, but it will only give me the embed code. It's neither Vimeo or Youtube. Any thoughts? I've got two different broadcasts.

Can you capture it and post it on youtube? Otherwise I have to jump through hoops to try and figure out how to use whatever custom player the news station uses.

Yeah, thats what I'm working on now. So far, I think it's locked in. (I've already contacted them for a copy, but it's out of date.) I'm scouring my cache as we speak for the temp file.

they aren't doing it intentionally, when posting a new vid you can auto populate the tags and information fields from youtube by clicking "load information" button.

Those tags are being pulled in from when they posted the video on youtube.
