Has anyone heard specifics about this tournament thats tomorrow? I heard its 25 bucks; but is it one round, divisions, etc.? I heard a rumor about a basket for the winner and things but nobody has confirmed anything. Thanks for the help

I'm considering this one if I don't make it to the two-day in Crowley.

Played the North Lake Park (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/../course.php?id=169) course today in Denton for this tourney. It was one round only. They ended up with just two divisions: "Amateur" and "Advanced". Gotta say I was surprised at the turnout considering the Crowley event pulled 107 players. There were 69 or 70 people registered for this little unsanctioned event. The $25 entry fee got you either a Z-Force or Z-Buzzz as a "Players Pack". They only payed out the top three in each division and that was with pre-made payout packs.

IIRC correctly the top three scores in "Amateur" were: 50, 51, 52. Top three scores in "Advanced" were: 44, 48, 50(tie). That 44 was a new course record.

I was one of of the ties @ 50 in "Advanced". First place in "Advanced" took home an Innova DISCatcher Sport, pretty good.

Pretty well run for a little charity event, they had spotters, ample water on the course, nice scorecards, and ran on time. There was an after party (that I didn't go to) where players got free food and beer too, if I was local I woulda stuck around for that.

A few suggestions for next year if they do it again. Include an Ace Pot. Better distribution of 2-minute warning and start signals. Perhaps a separate Women's division; there were a decent number that showed up at this event.

Not only a basket, but a 50 gift card to a steak house, some plastic and another gift card to a music store. They did have 2 minute warnings and also a start, but I agree a good run tourney for a first timer. I didnt understand what he was talking about when he stated you get 5 meters off of a disc, did you? Oh ya its nice to have a course record too!

We started on #3 and never heard any start signals... but then you guys on #2 tee'd off and we figured we better get going too. :D

No clue on the 5m thing.

either you have no pros there or someone needs to move up...in 15 years of playing up and down the east coast, i have NEVER seen a course record set by an amateur player

@Roc1time: do you know the people who ran it? If you could get the scores and player list I could put them into the spreadsheet and calculate the round ratings...

I have no idea if there are pros there or not, Im not a local. But the locals there said 9 was the old record and that was what was announced. No I dont know who ran it but I heard they were just casual guys that play once a month. Anyways if you run the few scores that were posted I would like to know what that 10 small rates as?

What can he say? He's a bad ass. Nice shooting Roc1time. I'm impressed! I learned to play on that course there in Denton and have played it countless times. I've never come close to 10 down.

Didnt say I was a bad ass but I am impressed with that round(as all the locals). I played real well and glad I did finally, and all went well. Thanks for the cheers CC. Hope all is well with you till next time we meet. You playing OKC first weekend in May?

That record may stand for a while. I don't know for sure, but I'd say that's definitely over a 1000 rated round.
I'm not playing OKC. I just played the LSAC this weekend, Title Disc Open is this coming Sunday at Rockwall, and then I'll be playing Mother's Day Madness at Lewisville on the 9th of May.
Will I see you at any of those?
