Dog Island Golf - Red Bluff, CA

A new course just showed up in my area over the weekend - Dog Island Golf in Red Bluff, CA. It was just mentioned in the PDGA newsletter, but I had only heard rumors of a course being proposed. I called the course designer this morning and he told me the course was complete and open for play.

So I just added it to the directory. It is about 45 minutes away, and I will get out and post a review/photos as soon as possible. Tee signs are not up yet, but he assured me it would be easy to navigate. Glad to see my choices under an hour away go from 4 courses to 5.

Bitchen...another NorCal course to check out! Looks like its pretty wooded too, which I think is a big plus in Red Bluff

I played two rounds today and put up a review (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/reviews.php?id=4360&page=1&mode=rev#28476). I am very happy to see disc golf growing in my area where there are not many courses. Good players might say it's too easy, but it reminds me of the old Chico Short Course and I think it will be a great introduction to the sport of disc golf for the people of Red Bluff.

I'll have to give it a look see on my next trip through. I've gotten to where there arn't too many left in Nor-Cal that I haven't played.
I had thought that Chico was going to be open again, as someone had put it back up on the website. And sence you were heading to Monterey at the time, I went to try to play, but it was still closed, so I updated the conditions on here to say that it's closed so others don't waist their time.
