This series does trophies up real nice, I lived in Indy last year & played a couple. Good tourney value for your buck for sure. Hoping to drive down from MI for a couple if possible.

I wish I could play in all of the tournies. Pretty much all of them but Lemon Lake are within 1.5 hours of where I live. However, I work most Saturdays and we have a baby on the way and my wife probably won't let me play very many. I might try to do a few, but who knows.

Why dosen't this go more south into Indiana? In Florida they have the Florida Tour http://www.fabflatour.org/consisting of about 15-20 events per year for a points based system. I understand the differences in weather in Florida than Indiana, but you could start in March in southern Indiana, and end in late Oct or early Nov in Southern Indiana. Places like Terre Haute, Evansville, English, Patoka, ect there are all kinds of great courses in southern Indiana, and it would probably draw more competition further north if it was a points based series. It would not be uncommon for a people to drive 5-6hrs for the points based events if we knew they were going to be at our tournament in a couple of months.

Yeah, I don't know why we don't go more south, Indy is as far south as we go and I think its mainly becuase the TD's associate with the local clubs of those cities to get this event organized. I for one, am helping with the TD at my local course (george wilson). I just picked this flyer up at the tourny I played in on sunday and I knew somewhat about it but didn't know the schedule they had set up. It starts next weekend in kokomo (never played that course) so we will see how it goes! My college graduation is supposed to be that day...but I don't think im going to go considering you don't HAVE to walk to get your degree LOL...

I'll post here if I am going to make it to any.

The Kokomo course was ok. I did really well when I played it. It wasn't very long or even technical for that matter.

How many of these tournies do you think you are going to play mmyers?

mmyersdisc

honestly, I am going to try and play every one of them! I have a cousin that lives in indy..so im gonna see if I can crash and her place so I dont have to drive back everytime!...anyways, ill be in kokomo this weekend as long as I don't NEED to walk a my graduation (that is if I pass all my classes...oops) I know of a few guys from my mini's that will be there as well!

considering majority of the courses (except my home course Wilson) I do not know and have never played..I will be playing novice...Wilson I can shoot 6 under pro par but I tend to shoot like crap first round (learning the course) then 2nd round I come back with under par...but yeah..lol

If you're shooting 6 under at Wilson, I really think you would be dipping LOW to play novice at any course just because you haven't played there. 6 under at Wilson says to me your game is good enough to be playing at least the mid to highest AM division.

Don't be 'that guy', who wipes the rec/novice division unfairly. :)

lol it will be my first sanctioned event..yeah i might be bagging...but Ill be more comfortable becuase I tend to blow my first round (learning the course) and then redeem myself the second round but by then its to late...like this past weekend at pieradise first round I shot 10 over..2nd I shot 1 under

well good, im still gonna play in am3...whether I bag or not! I shot -2 at my home course today (playing with my friends who don't care if there in your way or whatever) so plenty of distractions :-/ and hopefully my wrist holds up tommorow...not doing that bad so far now that I messed with my technique a little...ill see you tommorow jon! im leaving here at like 6 and I should be getting there at like 8 so im gonna play a round before the tourny starts

I'm looking forward to the Checkered Flag in Indy since it's the closest one to me. Brookside is my favorite course in Indy but it's too bad we aren't playing a round at George Washington also. I think those two courses compliment each other really well.

I shot 5 over for the day, lost 2 putters in the water and a brand new eagle....Finished 5th and missed the payout (4th spot) by 2 strokes... EVERYONE at bestshot was yelling at me when they heard I played novice :p so I will be playing the rest of the series in Am2/intermediate...we had a total of 89 participants which was a huge success, I hope to see that turnout at logansport this weekend!

Good to meet you, Mike. Sorry I wasn't too jovial, but I was nursing a really bad hangover. That did reflect on my round, too; last spot to cash in Am II. Lost a brand new Champ Boss, but replaced it with a Star one with an Indiana Summer Series stamp. The temp course was sweeet! See you at Logansport, tomorrow!

ouch...I gave my buddy my champ boss that was beat becuase he lost his beat one AND his newer one....and 2 others of his favorites..im glad I only lost putters :p that temp course was badass...I parked hole 14 (the first one I met up with you and bombed it over the road haha) it was a fun time..I just hope the course isn't flooded tommorow..im gonna take alot of towels and water with me...

Oh, yea! That was a great day for disc golf. I really liked how they moved the one basket that was in the water. It wasn't too bad other than the extreme downhill shot that murdered my rounds. Two 5's...Gggrrrrr. Took 6th and a CTP...not bad...for 3 1/2 hours sleep and a wicked buzz. Rip up Wilson, brotha, it's your time!

mmyersdisc
05-18-2009, 09:38 PM
I better rip up wilson damn it!!! I shot 10 down today doubles at rum tonight...and tommorow they are bumping me up to A pool from now on :-/ so im basically playing pro division at my home courses (damn it haha) but I wish there weren't so many baggers in that division or else I probably would have placed also and you would have been further up lol

yep...there are 4 different courses on that land...its plenty large enough for a state-wide championship...its hosting the 2010 Pro Worlds, anyone that has ever played there knows of the caliber of that course

yes the worlds are gonna be there, and thats why im bummed you only have a one day tourney in august. if it was a two day tourney i could justify going out there this year to get ready for next year. :(

I played on Saturday at Brookside. It was a fun day, with a pretty huge turnout. There were 90+ people, so it ended up being pretty slow both rounds.

mmyersdisc
06-29-2009, 02:44 PM
yeah I figured that mash...lol its the 2nd biggest tourney in Indiana...wish I coulda gone but I ended up staying out late with some friends that were in town from college so...I didn't wanna make the 3 hr trip on 3 hours of sleep haha....ummmm as far as who to talk to...call anyone on the list I posted on the first post...its kinda hard to tell who actually "runs the summer series" becuase its a joint effort for all the TD's to stay posted...I guess if you had someone down south with experience to running tournaments I wouldn't see why they would appose....

I agree here, what about a southern Indiana championship and a northern Indiana championship... ? Finals (North vs South) could switch up locations each year. Just some thoughts..
