What types of plastic, if any, are dishwasher safe?

I would not trust putting my discs in the dishwasher, even if they don't melt into a blob, they will get soft and deform a little from either it's own weight or the rack that it's on.

Innova's Grooves belongs in the dishwasher. And the recycling bin.

Are you eating out of your discs?

they are all fine, just make sure to not run them through the dry cycle

it only works if you make sure the water is as hot as possible

hahaha I literally was thinking about this very thread topic today... I think if you put it through the wash and took them out before it started to steam dry, they would be fine. But, im sure you could only put them on the top shelf and lay them flat. I might try it with one of my $hitty discs and get back to you with a solution.

just make sure you only throw them in the basket so they dont get dirty.

Better question: Why is it necessary to put your discs in the dishwasher?
I understand cleaning yours discs after a round, especially if you land in the creeks a lot. But wouldn't regular old dish soap and a sponge work for sanitizing a disc?

I like clean discs so I clean them in the laundry room sink with a sponge and detergent.
Some guys like dirty discs.
We've got a pro in Raleigh who keeps his putters in a bag of sawdust. Some allege that they've seen him stop and pick up "really" good dirt and add it to the bag.
Either way, discs in the lowest grade plastic can't be any more fragile than the tupperware my wife wash in our dishwasher. I know that guys will "grow the dome" of their Comets by placing them in almost boiling water, so heat will change the shape of a disc. My Bosch gets hot, but I'm fairly certain it's not boiling hot.

I tried this just for the heck of it, but I did pull them out before the drying portion. I think the newer ones have an "air dry" option. After all that trouble, washing them by hand still did a better job. You should also add Jetdry so you don't get hard water spots :)
I also use Dawn when I wash them by hand, so I don't have dry and cracking skin :)

Discs should hold up in the dishwasher - - I nuked my nuke for over two minutes in the microwave (for fun) and it flies just the same, even with a huge heat blister bubble on the wing of it. They can withstand the dishwasher!

My wife put my soft magnet in the dishwaser a year or two ago to try and clean it for me ... I threw the blob of plastic in the trashcan the next morning.

Why? Having dirty disc issues?

I was in my backyard drinking beer and practicing my putts when I managed to catch all the grass in half my street on fire. After the fire department put out the blaze my magnet was covered in fire suppressing foam but was otherwise unharmed. So my wife was trying to be nice and clean it for me.

Sorry I should have qouted the OP, my snark was not directed at you.
But wow, when you think about the life of that putter. I'd say it went out James Dean style. Poor guy, survived a fire just to be murdered by the dishwater. Not that I was ever gonna put one in there... but now I'm really not. You were holding out a really sweet back story.
