Is there a way to post pictures from my own computer? All I can see to add pictures is by using a url from a website.

I tried doing an attachment, but that only produced a thumbnail.

I'd appreciate your technical help with this.

This tree landed right on top of the basket at Joran Creek DGC (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=32) one time. The bolts just sheared right off and all the components (baskets, chain thingamajig) slid right down the pole. The township cut the tree away and all the basket needed was some new bolts and it was as good as new! As you can see, it was a fairly large tree. Who would've thought these things would be so strong...

Upload your pictures to a site like Flickr.com (http://www.flickr.com/) or Photobucket.com (http://photobucket.com/). Once they are up there, you can copy the links and paste them in the add image url display you get when you click on the mountain top thingy...

If people click on the thumbnail they can see the full size picture so it's the same result in the end.

I put some pic of putting and driving in the Caribbean in a folder on my profile page...I need to remember to take a camera with me playing...one time I was at Dexter in Oregon and it was foggy and misting and looking down the hill on hole 3 was magical...I wish I would have had a camera...there were wisps of fog laced through the trees and you could just make out the basket at the bottom of the hill...

Notice the single chain setup on the chain assembly and the shallow basket attachment. That design actually caught Frisbees pretty well.

I'm pretty sure that that is the 3rd hole at Basil Griffin in Bowling Green. A buddy of mine and I were there shortly after all that water had receded. It was still up enough that the creek was double the size that it normally is, and the basket was surrounded by about 6 feet of water. We played it anyways and than wadded to the basket to get our discs. That is one of the coolest holes I have ever played anywhere. Looks even cooler with all that water!!!!!!!

It's actually a peninsula that is about 15ft wide at the basket and continues back about 15ft. The hole play along the edge of the lake and if you are gutsy you can go over the water and run at the basket. I did this a couple times and found out the water is really only about knee deep.:o But basically you have water the hole right hand side of the hole. Its also hole #27 so you are actually pretty tired by the time you get to this hole which obviously accounts for why I threw it into the water a couple of times

Here's the best ones that I have. I'm pretty sure I missed both of these putts. haha.

was the 2nd one jumped for elevation or are you a jump putter?

One of my favorite holes. Hole 5 at the Steady Ed course at IDGC in Augusta. Over 500 feet and a choice to go for the big gap out over the water (in the wind) or the small "safe" gap to the left (still over water). The pin is kinda out on the peninsula to the right that you can just see sticking out through the gap on the right.

It was either a long jump putt or a jump putt for an approach. I can't remember on that particular picture. From about 50 to 115 (guessing on distances) I jump for putting and approaching. The approach that way usually just parks under the basket. If I throw it there's more of a chance to spray the shot.

Not really harmless. They do bite if provoked, and the venom is not as bad as a black widow, but it will leave a bad red mark for 24 hours on your skin.

So there is this little Sunrise Middle School in Kearney, NE, USA. I decided at the last minute I would get a quick round in and try to get some pics of the holes with my phone camera, before it got dark. So I get to this hole and can not find the pin anywhere. All I see is the running track and the football field in the middle of it. Sorry the pics are so grainy and that it was getting dark.

http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=10&pictureid=233

After almost giving up all hope I finally spotted the pin! I could not believe my eyes, because even though there were no trees, it is the one place I just never thought to look at. You have to look close. Once you throw between these 2 poles, one word says it all...

Funny you should say that. That course is covered with them, and we are talking about making some discs like that for the next tournament.
We had the 17 year cicada hatch en masse last summer at Richmond Hill. There were 1000's of these red beady eyed bugs flying all over the place. harmless but distracting (flying in your hair, etc) & the noise! Sounded like flying saucers were landing. We ended up with a club disc with them pictured on it. Check it: http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/jdubent08/misc%20DG/clubdisc08.jpg
Just for the record. When you mentioned that you almost walked into the spider web I had thoughts of a spider web in my hair & the spider coming down to investigate/bite/lay eggs etc. Wicked-scary!

Actually, that sign is in better shape than most of the other ones there and does show the layout pretty good. I play 95% of my games at this course, so I don't look at the signs anymore. I have lots of love for Hudson Springs.

The second one is umm Lake Chelan's Cascade DGC.
The are soo real, come one I'm hurt you would think otherwise.

i don't care if you're hurt. neither course exists in the DB here and a 6 year-old could tell neither of those are real.

You're a dick man, thats not cool making fun of people. I spent a few minutes making those and a few months backpacking up there to take those pictures so if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all.

For all you know it could be a portable basket. That first one can easily be hiked to from a road with a basket and I personally think that would make some spectacular disc golf'n.

I love this hole, I played it the first time a month ago and had to throw a few discs. It's a bit scary when they start turning out to the water but nice when they fade back right to the basket. Nice photo.

I can't wait to go back to San Antonio and play this course again. If you are going to be in the area, its a must play.

alright will do! but as of now I don't know exactly where I will be going. I will be going to visit some military family that is coming back stateside from Japan and we aren't positive where they will be stationed yet. But it is airforce, so if you know of any bases in the area than it is possible I will be nearby.

Dead center, about 3 feet long. Should stick out of the snow, even after the disc disappears into it.

Just wrap the tape around the disc making an x across the top and bottom of the disc. I have hearm people using streamers or ribbon as a tail but that impacts the flight. Fresh snow made it easier to locate discs. I focused on staying in the fairway and short drives didn't hurt either. Only played 6 holes before I froze. I was shocked that I didn't lose one.

i used soccer cleats and really thick socks. tape the cleats on top so that you cant see laces. that prevents ice from getting in on top and do the same thing on the ankles. i use athletic tape. it works pretty well. my feet were still frozen but at least they were dry.

Who would've thought these things would be so strong...

yea, Hole #3 at Woodstock is deceiving...... only measures 173 ft but it's gotta be 60ft vertical that you have to throw against gravity. And if your drive hits the wall and it lands on edge, it could roll right back to you !!!

Hey Ericj. Does this remind you of the Indy scene where he has to put his arm in that hole in the wall with all of the giant bugs in it? Disgusting!!!! Someone else mentioned that they preferred the disc landing on a snake and I agree totally. The biggest spider I've ever seen around here is only about the size of a silver dollar at full stretch. That monster on the disc sucks harshly! And I'm not squeamish about bugs at all.

wish i had enough land to do something like that...

I think its safe to say we all do.

The funny thing is that I complain all of the time about not having a course that's closer than an hour drive away for me. The two closest courses to me are both a little over an hour drive for me (unfortunately in totally opposite directions too). And othersie, it's at least an hour and 45 minutes to the next closest courses.

So using three portable baskets I have 18 holes set up around six basket locations on my property. I posted the following thread...

http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1491&highlight=build

...that you might be interested in checking out. It shows all 18 holes at my house.

I mentioned it there, too, but I'll say it again. It is so nice getting the positive feedback from people like you guys because it totally opened up my eyes. Where I have to drive an hour or more to get to a course, I have land right in my back, and front, yards... literally. So when people mention being stuck in a tiny apartment, etc. it really makes me remember just how blessed I am to have what I have.

My sincerest thanks to everyone on this site. And Happy 250th post to me! :D

Hey Ericj. Does this remind you of the Indy scene where he has to put his arm in that hole in the wall with all of the giant bugs in it?
Yeah, somewhat. That's the course in Kingwood (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=1746). I played it once and those spiders were pretty darn big. Makes it interesting when you think about how much time in DG is spent walking and looking at the ground (for a disc). It's really easy to walk right into a big web. :|
