Well I had mentioned this but I still need to gather a few little items of information. Regardless I will give you the format and costs.

Random draw doubles will be determined as follows; One AM will be paired with One Pro (Pro players will be dictated by rating not which division that you play in so therefore if the field dictates as such an intermediate player may be the Pro for any group. By default the TD will play Pro). We will see pairings and if any group is thought to be unfair bring it to the TDs attention as well as a suitable switch, a vote will be taken and by default the TD will vote in favor of the switch; if a majority of the teams vote yes then the switch will be made.

This will be two rounds with a normal break in between rounds (there is now a pro shop at Lemon Lake which serves food) The first round will be a hybrid 24 playing the following holes; Red 1-7, 10-14, Blue 1, 15-18 and White 3-9. It will be all short tees to short pin locations. The second round will be on Silver (13 silver is a rubber pad unless it is poured by then).

During the first round each player will play individually and the scores for the team will be totaled to reach the first round total (example Pro shoots 68 and the AM shoots 77 the team gets a 145 for the first round). Silver will be a standard best shot routine. Lowest total for the day wins.

In the event we have an odd man a Pro will only get one additional shot per hole, and Am will get 2 off the tee and 2 anywhere else. Their first round score will be doubled to reach a first round total.

The Ace pool is good for all day on a multiple hit it will be split evenly. Should no one hit an Ace we will have a CTP for that money.

Cost to enter will be $15, $10 goes directly to the payout, $3 goes to the Ace pool and $2 goes to the Cash CTP.

There will be a players party after for anyone that wants to participate entry can be obtained two ways, you can provide a side dish which can be dropped off in the morning before rounds start or pay $5 to help cover the cost of the main dishes. If I make any profit from entry fees, we will have a putting contest at the players party for the extra money. Don't forget your swimsuits and towels as we have a pool at my house and the water is always warm.

I would appreciate it if you Vote for a day that you would most prefer and a Main dish that you would eat, my goal is to provide 2 Main dishes and several sides.

I think July 2nd would work best. July 16th is the Deuces Wild tournament here in the Aurora area which I'm sure a bunch of locals will be attending and July 30th is the Sinnissippi tournament, which also draws a big crowd.

That was my feeling as well, but I wanted to leave the other dates open just in case

I like this and would really try hard to attend.....by I am too iffy to warrant casting a vote (although I think 7/2 works best for me).

The format sounds excellent and fun! Although personally I think Gold would be more fun than Silver for the 2nd round......not a complaint at all or even a suggestion for that matter, just a preference.

I like how this clause works out well for the format of this event: "In the event we have an odd man a Pro will only get one additional shot per hole, and Am will get 2 off the tee and 2 anywhere else. Their first round score will be doubled to reach a first round total."

I played lone wolf/Cali (one extra do-over throw per hole) on Gold in an event 2 summers ago and with all the multi-throw holes it was not fair at all. I played consistently better than either player on the other team on my card, but still got stomped by about 5. But that effect is counteracted (hopefully not over-compensated for) by the first round average score counteracting. Good stuff!

Yea it is fough to make it work out perfectly, it may have to be amended between rounds depending on the players skill level and distance off of the tee. I want to play gold as well but I want to make sure that the Ams can have the ability to contribute at least 50% of the time off of the tee, not that they will get played that frequently

I almost think two shots off the tee and two anywhere else would be too much. Maybe I'm just overconfident, but I feel like with that many mulligans I could beat almost any pro/am doubles group, its so many free shots.

You say that but it is going to take about -12 on the hybrid and -8 on silver based on our local leagues

I would have to agree with Arche. Me being an Am myself, I would say 1 extra shot per hole (Cali rules). It would only be fair and really help the speed of play.

You have to understand that it might help you on the hybrid but it will even out on the silver, this is the extra throw policy we use for our weekly leagues and it doesn't make any affect on time of play and rarely does the extra man dominate the field

Ok. It's your show. I would be interested in the July 2 date....as long as I could get a ride. :doh:

I have been working on the payment structure and this is what it will look like, please note that cut offs are at exactly 1/3. The first number will be the number of teams that are playing and the second number will be the number of teams paid.
1-5 -->1
6-8 -->2
9-11 --> 3
12-14 -->4
15-17 -->5

the structure will continue further if needed.
payouts will be as such; first number is the number of payouts, following numbers will be the percentages.
1 -->100
2 -->60, 40
3 -->50, 30, 20
4 -->40, 30, 20, 10
5 -->40, 25, 20, 10, 5 ( I may adjust this one slightly still.

so for reference say we get 10 teams (20 players) total cash will be $200. First would get $100, Second would get $60 and third would get $40. Also the Ace pot would be at $60 and the CTP would be $40. Hope this helps you guys on the fence decide whether or not you will show up
