Disc Organizer 2.0

The new disc organizer has just been launched. There are a bunch of new features and improvements and hopefully you guys will like it. Also, premium members can now upload photos of their discs!

As always, if you run into any issues or bugs please let me know. There is a lot of new stuff in there and I'm sure I've made at least a couple of mistakes :)

Tim, just tried to add a disc...the pop up window was awkward and I needed to scroll right to see most of it, kind of a hassle. Then, it wouldn't actually add the disc and gave this instead:

I just tried to change the order of the disc's in one of my bags and it worked once but then it wouldn't work unless I refreshed the page each time I hit the order button.

I really like everything else so far and the order thing will be great when you get the bugs out.

It still isn't working right. I go to bags and try to change the order in my 2011 play bag with the little arrow buttons. A little loading wheal pops up but the order does not change. If i refresh the whole page it updates. I can hit the up or down buttons multiple times and when I refresh the page it will move as many places as times I hit the button i.e. I hit the up button on a disc five times then refresh the page and it moves up five spaces.

yea.. it ended up slowing down my browser like crazy in the entire forum so I closed the page and then I couldn't load the website at all. So I closed Chrome and restarted it and then went back and it added the disc I was trying to so that did work. It just froze up the website pretty bad when I did it. If it happens again I'll report it but for now it seems to be working.

I can't figure out how to put discs in my bag on there. Is this a feature for premium members only? I check all the ones I want bagged and then click, the little check next to "add to bag" and then click that and nothing happens. My bag is empty.

Sweet! We just tried it out and finally updated my son's bag. I'll do all the rest tomorrow.

We too had the above mentioned 'order' issues and the disc type not showing up. We added a Flick to his bag. We went to add disc and put in all the info. but the color option wouldn't open. So we added it with no color, then found it on the list and clicked edit, and the colors opened up just fine.

I like it, especially the new color options! Now I finally have an excuse to stop putting it off and actually update My bag.

I'm not able to recreate this. Do you know which page you were adding the disc from? Just the main disc list? Is it still doing it?

I noticed the bag screen doesn't remember if your bags are "minimized" (plus sign) or "maximized" (minus sign) when you go from page to page. This was a feature I liked on the old version and it looks like a similar page.

Also I noticed that on some hyperlinks (The "Add checked disc to bag" link comes to mind) the mouse cursor does not change to the "HyperLink Hand" when hovering above it. This is a little annoying.

Otherwise, looks great! I like the "latest disc" and "favorite Manufacturer". A "Most common weight" would be fun too or "Average Weight".

I didn't add in the bag expand/collapse remembering thing to the new one. I could add it in if there is demand.. or make a bag "jump" menu to just quickly scroll down to a bag. The "Add checked discs to bag" thing is a button, not a link, hence the no hand.

I am however having issues updating my discs. I had no problem to start but now when I hit edit, it takes me to the beginning of my disc collection and won't let me edit. Any idea on how to fix it?

Nice updates... really like the new color picker.

A few suggestions for enhancements:


Add the ability to "expand" all discs in a bag with one click.
Add the ability to store weights to the tenth of a gram.
Could you please pre-populate the Type field for all discs? There should be a relatively standard Type for each preset disc in the Organizer db, right? The users could then change the type if they so desire.

Question:


What happens when you're a premium member and upload pix of discs and then your premium membership expires? Are the pix deleted, or saved and just hidden from view until you renew your membership?

The way it works now, the pictures stay when your membership is up, you just can't add more. I'm not sure what those time/date stamps are... are they actually in the notes field or are they just showing up when viewed outside the editing page?

Hmm... try making the file smaller on your end and then uploading it. Looks like the server doesn't have enough memory to process it. I only tested it with files around 100k :) I may have to make the minimum smaller (closer to the course photo minimum).

I forgot most of the hole numbers, because I would record it within a few days of losing the disc and not think of it again. Is there any way to get this info back??

All you can do is navigate away from the page, but when you do the changes are lost and you go right back to square one.

I could possibly do a bulk delete from a bag or from the organizer in general. Adding discs to the marketplace requires setting an option or two for each disc so doing that in bulk won't really work well.

Yep. Looks like all the holes have been deleted from my lost discs as well.

Figured out the lost hole issue... I think I managed to restore all the previous lost holes as well. It had to do with updating lost discs. The holes that are still missing hole #'s didn't have them as of the 15th of June (before the launch of the new organizer) so I'm assuming those have been missing. I think the bug may have existed in the old organizer as well.

Discraft had a plastic called "Competition" that is not on the list. It was the Pre-Pro D plastic that was out at the same time as Tournament Pro.

The Tournament Pro version of the Hawk was the "HD Hawk." It's not on the disc list.

The original Ching discs were Innova DX plastic, so I'm not sure what to put those as. None of the options really cover that. Maybe if there was a "standard" option that would cover it?

QuestAT gives me a problem with the Inferno. The Inferno's I have are Gateway stamped and were run in Gateway E. That's not an option. I suppose either the Inferno could be listed as a Gateway disc or E could be an option for QuestAT plastic, either way would cover it.

Seems that when I go to edit a disc and check to remove it from one bag and check to put it in another, it comes out of the list but the bag still has the same number of discs and weight.

IE, right now it shows 7 discs listed in my Fade Crunch but then says 9 discs at 3 lbs.

I had the problem where when I added a disc in chrome it froze and i had to restart my cpu again. I've never had this problem before and its happened twice now. If nobody else is having that problem I might need to reinstall chrome so let me know.

I had to reorder your discs but it should be fixed now. There was a bug in the original sort I did to establish disc orders if a disc was in more than one bag.

Very cool stuff, got to messing around with it to add my newer discs to my meager collection.

One small suggestion: I saw where you can add pictures of the discs. Could you possibly add a spot to add a picture of your bag? The 'show off your bag' threads are pretty popular, people could just link back to their disc organizer to show off. ;)

Why do you have the rogue, squall, and other listed under DGA and Discraft? I know Discraft makes them but I have never seen a "Discraft Rogue"

When you mark a disc as lost, the "lost on hole #" is tempermental. I made the change to the disc to mark it 'lost' and the hole # didn't work. I saved the changes (marked it as lost) then re-edited and the option was there to mark the specific hole.

I'm trying to add all my discs to the Disc Organizer but am unsure exactly what the FR CFR and GLOW checkboxes mean? I assume GLOW is for a disc that glows but I have no idea about FR and CFR? Please forgive my ignorance as I'm still learning!

Candy Fund Raiser is an Innova disc (maybe DC and other brands do it too, I just know Innova) that is not usually produced in a plastic sold to Tournament Directors for fund raising.

no when I go to disc organizer it says i have 12 pages worth of discs and when I go to the 12th page it does not give me an option to go to next or anything like that. Yet a chunk of my discs are missing (Lat 64, Xcalibers) I can get to them if I apply filters they are still there it's just limited to 12 pages.

I think that makes sense.

The Organizer doesn't have SuperSonic on it. I can either list it as Hero Disc Other or Innova Champ Sonic but not Hero Disc/Innova SuperSonic. FYI.

When I click the pencil to edit a disc, the page doesn't load all the way and I always have to hit F5 to refresh. Something is buggy.

Which disc? Everything loads fine for me when I try it in my organizer. Maybe it's something with your account. Feel free to PM your password my way and I can try it out.
