How many does that make for the Metroplex? I've been wanting to take a couple days off and head over and play as many courses as I can with some friends. Do you think a group of three or four could do them all in two days?

Also, back on topic, this is the first I've heard of it. It is, though, right down the road from the Komart I go to every time I head that way.

No way you could play all of them in 2 days. Now you might be able to hit the best of the best but drive time would kill your chances

Depends on what your calling the metroplex but I count everything within DFW and theres got to be at least 30. Just look at the map browser on here.

Most ways you count it, you get to ~40 courses. Just search from a ZIP Code roughly in the center of DFW (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/browse.php?cname=&holes=0&holetype=0&teetype=0&num_reviews=&rating_min=&rating_max=&yem=&yex=&cndtn=&terrain[]=1&terrain[]=2&terrain[]=3&landscape[]=1&landscape[]=2&landscape[]=3&mtees=&mpins=&private=1&paytoplay=1&country=1&city=&state=&zipcode=75014&zip_distance=50) (Irving, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Euless, etc...). And most courses are within 30 miles of the center (35+ courses), with a few outliers still inside of 50 miles to hit that 40-course number. But from what I understand, several others are underway... of course, 14 of the courses they've got are 9 holes or less... and of those, most aren't worth playing. So knock a dozen courses off the total as far as places worth hitting (Fritz is worth playing if you are near it in Irving, though).

And of course, Jimmy Porter is still pulled up. Andrew Brown at Coppell is one of the worst courses in the country. Denton is pretty bad, as well... Shawnee in Plano is a glorified 9-hole masquerading as 18, and Audobon is in a state of disrepair...

Overall, thinking about it, I'd take the DFW 40-course total and cut it down to maybe 20 that are worth playing if you live in the area. Still a lot of courses, but those 20 courses have a lot of driving and some mad, mad traffic between them. The best way to plan a DFW roadtrip is to plan pockets of courses to play together that allow you to stay off the roads as much as possible during the traffic times.

If you are visiting, just make a top-10 or top-12 list and try to hit those, which would be very possible in two days. Basically plan a West leg and an East leg to the trip, and you'd be okay.

Since I left Dallas ~3 years ago, they've added just over 200-holes of disc golf (some nine hole, some 18 hole courses). At the rate they are going, I'd bet that by sometime in 2011, they'll hit 50 courses in the greater DFW Metroplex.

No A+ courses in the Metroplex (or in TX) yet, but definitely some very solid B+ course in DFW (Harry Meyer, Lester Lorch, Z-Boaz, Veterans). Definitely a fun place to play disc golf because there are so many options.

I'm going have to disagree with the statement no a+ courses.Lester lorch park is a+in everyway.Z-boaz is a+ as long as you hit it early in the morning before the crowds.Get to z-boaz before 8am and it's a 5 star worthy course after that the crowds just ruin it :(

Audubohn is back to 18 holes. Construction is finished.

I dont agree about Denton. Thats not that bad of a course. As far as A + I have to disagree too. Veterans, Z Boaz, Cedar Hill, and Rockwall I think are all worthy of an A. But just my opinion.

And in Texas......East Metro in Manor, Live Oak in San Antonio, and Oakridge are worthy as well
