When you are considering making a road trip to, or going out of your way to play a course... How much does the "Course Designer" weigh in your decision making?

i dont care too much who the designer is if its supposed to be a good course. however, the designers i know and have played their courses. if i see it was designed by them i may get a lil more or less excited.

I have made a few trips that featured numerous designs by a designer. It's kind of cool. (said in Miley Cyrus voice) :)

*It's just one additional factor that could be included in a journey...*

I only sort of pay attention to who designed the course. There are a couple designers I've played several courses by that I'd go out of my way for but otherwise it's mostly a non-factor for me.

I'll usually try to play courses for the first time with the designer if possible. And if I can't play with the designer, I'm more likely to seek out higher DGCR rated courses by designers I don't know to see if the rating is merited from a design standpoint.

A rad course is a rad course, regardless of who designed it... :|

The goal, of course, is to play evey course! So the course designer doesn't matter much to me.

Anyone else want to chime in on this OP?

Thanks-

It doesn't make much difference to me. If there's a solid rating from this site or if word of mouth has made me want to go then whoever designed the course will be receiving a big kudos and thank you regardless of who it is.

I agree with this statement....except for the usage, grammar and punctuation:)

I can honestly say that with the exception of flip I have no idea who designs the courses I play on. Reviews from players at or above my skill level would be a much bigger factor in whether or not I played a course.

I don't know if Iwould go out of my way for a course designer but I might be more likely to play a course designed by some I know and admire their work. When I visit my parents in MN my goal is normally to play courses I haven't played before. If its a choice of designers I would play a Kennedy or Full course before someone elses design.

When deciding on which courses to play on the drive the choice is based on courses that my two youngest boys will enjoy playing.
