I'll be heading out to Chicago for a week then heading down to St. Louis during that week. Will be driving from Chicago to St. Louis. I'm wondering if anybody had any suggestions for courses to play in the area. I've already played a couple of 9-holers in the Chiago area but am wondering if Fairfield Park is worth the trip since its a 20-holer?
Would love to hear what y'all got to suggest. Won't be making the trip until last week of July so I got some time to plan.

If you're willing to drive a little, I love the courses at Anna Page Park a little ways west of Chicago. There are two nice 18 hole courses that are both a lot of fun. Closer in to Chicago, I like West Park in Joliet.

There are a few courses in St. Louis you have to try. First, Jefferson Barracks. It is a pretty long course, quite a bit of walking, but not too hilly. On almost every shot you have to dodge or fly 250 feet over the trees right off the tee. It is a challenging course, not good for beginners. Second, Quail Ridge. It is a shorter course, most holes are around 240-300 feet, but it is tough because most of your shots have to thread through trees. Moderately Hilly, not as much walking as Jefferson Barracks. Plus you will be in the shade for more than half the holes.

I lived in Chicago for five years, and I tell people the same thing...enjoy yourself, it's a great town. Leave your plastic at home and play when you get back. If you insist on playing while in Chicago, just go to a course close to where you are staying. None of the Chicago courses are worth driving a long way to. You have to go to Rockford or Joliet or Lemon Lake to get to a good course, and those places can be a long haul depending on where in Chicago you are.
On I-55 on the way to the Lou you will go through Springfield. Lincoln Park is good, and they are expanding it. Not sure if that has been done yet or not, but it is supposed to go to 36 holes. If you can talk people into a detour, Foundation Park in Centralia is a destination course. McNaughton Park in Peoria is also worth a detour.
There are some good courses in the Lou as well. Sioux Passage and Jefferson Barracks are the usual suspects.

I recommend Souix Passage in St. Louis. I haven't played it in 7 years now so it's hard for me to compare to the courses I've played lately, but when I lived there I remember it was my favorite course out of the 5 courses I played regularly.

Thanks for the tips, I'll be planning the disc golf part of the trip as soon I know more details about my trip there.

Mokena, IL somewhat south of Chicago has a good 27 hole course worth driving out of the way for.

depending on what part of St. louis youre getting to, jefferson barracks, sioux passage, and quail ridge are the safest bets. but if you have more time/are willing to venture a little from the city, make a day of playing woodland chains in collinsville IL and rockspring in alton IL, then have lunch/dinner and a brew at Fast Eddies!
