View Full Version : First Dye Turned out better than I expected
06-24-2009, 02:49 AM
After the first 10 minutes, I realized that I didn't put enought dye in so I put some more in and it turned out good. I left it in a little too long, so the disc is a little sticky from the vinyl, but that comes off with acetone.
All in all, I'm happy with the fruits of my labor (about 2-3 hours).

Great job, keep up the good work. You learn more tricks the more you dye.

Here are pictures off all the dyes I've done (In order of date dyed)
My very first dye, I was so excited to dye that I used duck tape.
Posted before but here is the Champion Starfire
Star Valkyrie with an Abbey Road dye ( I really liked how well this one turned out)
DX Rhyno ( I need to work on cutting curved lines a little more)

That DX Rhyno doesn't look so bad, I have read that people don't like to use the DX plastic for dying but that's not too shabby on a used disc.

Yeah, I think the only problem is that it isn't as dark as I was hoping. It was supposed to be a dark black but turned out to be kind of faded.
