Hello Everyone,

There s a huge possibility of installing a 18 hole course at a breathtakingly beautiful landscape of Green Kendall at Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. ..

If you have read this, i certainly insist that you respond back to this thread and indicate numerous ways of how to make this future project a successful one..

Share me with your experiences, not only that, every opinion counts and those will be worthily retained..

Thanks,

Fletch Kuehne

Fletch,
Have you contacted any of the folks on the NoVA Disc Golf or MD Disc Golf discussion forums? There are countless years of experience on both sides of the Potomac with guys who would love to help see a great course brought to D.C. I'm sure they would be happy to share their expertise and help you with proposals, design ideas, budget, etc...

And for reference -- I know where Gallaudet is, but I didn't think there was anywhere on campus that has space for a disc golf course... is Kendall Green a separate area? If so, where is it at. I'd love a Google Map link to see the overhead of what the area looks like where you are thinking a course might be built.

Thanks,
Tim

Fletch,

You must reach out to Tim Bertone, if you haven't already. He's the designer of Giles Run in Lorton and Bluemont Park in Arlington, and is well connected with the local park authorities. There's also some other locals who have been talking to DC Government, check out the message board at www.novadiscgolf.com for more details.

Let me know if you need any physical labor when install time comes around, I'd love to help!

Sorry for such a delay, I have been quite busy with classes n all..

Anyway.. I have recently talked with the higher positions at Gallaudet University and they will set up a meeting with me and another people who share the similar passion and interest of installing a course on the Kendall Green to discuss about this project further really soon..

I am a Gallaudet student myself and I know the size of Gallaudet and its landscaping really well, it definitely has a plenty of space that can comfortably hold a 18 hole course..

Let me know if there is anything that either of you who replied to my first message can kindly contribute at least a basket to help out with this project..

Thanks

There's a fairly sizable group of deaf discgolfers that play out at Seneca. My guess is that some of them may already be behind this but you might want to reach out to the on md-discgolf.com. They did an incredible job fixing up the long trail between 14 and 15 so thanks them again for me.

BTW, the course designer on the NOVA DG page is Tim Beron aka The Hardest Working Man in Discgolf.

Hey Fletch,

I'm so pleased to hear that Gally is supporting on this one.

But I do question about the security on campus. Will they allow non-Gally students/visitors entering the campus to use the course? I know the security is strictly crazy every since 9/11 and protests incidents.

It would be good exposures for hearing players to see deaf players discing and signings.

I would love to come down and check out the course.

Unfortunately, RIT/NTID wouldn't do the same...:(
