I've been throwing FH for drives pretty exclusively the past few years. I've capped out at about 360' throwing FH flex shots. After occasionally reading through this forum, I very recently decided to work on my BH drives, and discing down in the process. I have more ultimate frisbee experience than disc golf, so you might see some weird form mistakes come from that. I also have trouble getting the disc to rip from my hand on BH drives.

Here is a clip of me driving some putters and mids. I can only get my putters out to about 225 and the mids don't go all that much further. Any feedback and advice would be greatly appreciated.

You are pulling early and not getting your hips into. Your max reachback position(as the front foot lands) is not athletic as your balance is over your rear heel. You should be in position with your shoulders 180 degrees away or more from the target and have the leverage over the rear foot to start a lawn mower in a straight line pull from max reachback to the target.

Thanks for taking the time out to critique me, sidewinder. I'd never seen myself throw a disc before this, but I can see what you are talking about.

I have another question that perhaps you or somebody else reading could answer. It looks like the disc is tilted a little higher than the plane of my forearm upon release when you pause the video near the hit. Is this okay to put a little more height on driving with putters, or should I try to get that more in line?

You are not throwing with an upward trajectory, but are throwing nose up.
