The following happened to me this past weekend at a USDGC qualifier. I lost out on a round of 47 which should have been close to a 1000 round. It was the 3rd best round of the day. I beat out all but 2 Pro's and will not get any credit for this. To prevent this from happening to anyone else please read!!!!!!!

I am Russell Gore in the Intermediate class..............
Due to some recent events at the tournament at Lebanon I want to give a little disc golfer awareness about ratings.
At the tournament there were four different layouts played.
Layout A: All Longs Except #15 and #18 Short
Layout B: All Longs
Layout C: All Shorts (No OB on #5)
Layout D: All Longs (No OB on #5)
Pros and Advanced played layouts A & B while all other AM divisions played layouts C & D. Due to the fact that there were NOT five or more PDGA rated players playing layouts C & D the PDGA will NOT generate a rating for those players and those layouts. This is VERY disheartening for the players affected.
Now that the tournament has passed there is NOTHING we can do except learn from our experience. So…what did we learn?
When running or playing an event be aware of the number of PDGA rated players playing each specific layout. According to the PDGA there must be five propagators (rated players in this instance) playing a specific layout in order to determine a rating for each layout.
