We're taking a family trip to the Durango, CO area. Does anyone have any info about the courses there?...in particular the Timberline Academy course?...I'm not finding a lot on the web.
Thanks!

Never been to Durango so I'm of no help with the existing courses.

As far as Timberline goes, from what I gather it must not be around anymore.

No listing here, no listing on the PDGA site.

Wrightlife.com's listing for it was last updated in 2002. It lists Stephan Lazare as a contact person, who's email address is crashmaster@durangodiscgolf.com (Durangodiscgolf.com doesn't go anywhere fyi).

Hope that helps.

Not exactly in Durango but I'm looking forward to playing "Lions Den" in Farmington NM next Wednesday. It's the first course I've seen that has a TOPO map.

Cortez (just west of Durango) has some nice looking stuff too.

the timberline course is only open to the public on Sundays. The course is still in the ground but is not as well kept as previous years. Durango has very nice dg but it all private or occassionally open. Have fun

Have you ever played the course outside Lindrith, NM? Way out in the booneys sort of near Cuba, on private land owned by Dennis Hopper (the actor). The Galloway brothers from Albuquerque are the caretakers of the course, and they have set up an amazing 27 hole course. Partly in the woods, partly in the Badlands area. They're hosting an event out there this weekend (Aug. 2). The flyer I saw said something about bring your game, camping gear, and appetite. Carey G. mentioned a goat to cook Sat. evening. Last time I was there they cooked a pig in the ground and it was fantastic!

Definately an experience you WILL NOT forget.
