Myrtle Beach - February 2012

Just a heads up but for anyone in the Myrtle Beach area I'll be taking a week off and plan on playing any courses that I can get to while I'm there.

I don't know when I'll be heading down just yet. I'll post that way ahead of my departure date.

I might even take a 1 day trip to Appling, GA to check out the IDGC and play a course or 2 there.

Maybe I should have posted this in the "Road Trips" thread....

RussMB would have been your man but he has moved to Florida. If you don't mind driving, you should drive to Wilmington and play Castle Hayne. One of the best courses in the state.

Yeah, I managed to hit up a round with RussMB down in Charleston about a week before he moved down to Florida.

Follow Bro-D's advice and hit up Castle Hayne (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=1084). Try to PM DiscJunkie (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/member.php?u=2470) before you head there. Real fun guy to play with, and he is also listed as a course guide there.

If memory serves me right, as of last August there were three (maybe two) courses down there, moderately spread out. I brought my bag with me on my family vacation but none were really worth heading out for a solo run. If I could have met up with someone then I would have happily gone but they didn't seem worth going out of my way for just me.

They are supposedly adding/improving on them so there might be hope.

RussMB was the MB man. Since he moved to Floride I really haven't noticed him around (though I do admit I really don't follow people on here). There was another gentleman who was active in the SC/MB scene that posted on occasion. He posted about leagues and other things. I'd either try a search for "Myrtle Beach" or send RussMB a PM and he can get you the name.

I'll be going back again this August, I hope things have improved.
