Ratings Distribution

If you go to the reviews page of a course and click on the little + sign next to average rating (I actually made that whole line a link), you can now see a graphical representation of the ratings people have given that course.

I thought it'd be handy so you could see if one rating of "5" was skewing the whole average or if you were just curious what the distribution looked like.

I also like the hover over the average rating discs and it gives you the tooltip with the decimal point average also. I love all the little trinkets! :cool:

Can you just have it default to show the ratings distribution -- I think that is a very useful feature, but I'm afraid not many people will discover it since clicking on that + sign is not necessarily intuitive. I think seeing the distribution is great, since it gives you an instant look at the range of opinions about a course.

Thanks for your continuing improvements to the functionality of the site -- I'm amazed how quickly changes are implemented to improve the user experience.

I thought about having it show by default but thought it took up too much space at the top which is why I opted for the current setup.

You guys may have noticed already but I changed the link for the ratings distribution. It's now a little graph icon and the link says "Details". It's more noticeable now so hopefully more people will discover it.

2 years later the little rating chart got an update :) I added percentages to all the bars and also made the review # at the top of the bar clickable so you can jump directly to the reviews that have that rating.
