I was just intrigued by the NC-SC battle and thought we might be able to get a little battle between the men and ladies (if any exist that play) within the PA border. How about we do a little North vs. South or East vs. West Pennsylvania showdown. We could plan for it to occur during the Spring and make it a two day event. We could play one course down in the Philly area one day and play a course in Pittsburgh or some other PA locale the other day to make it a fair battle. Can't have too much home course advantage.
What does everyone think about that idea. If you have suggestions just shout them out.

There are PA States....I think you could infer who has the best disc golfers from that...but I'd be a fan of some type of regional showdown between the 3 DG regions

There is also North vs South at Codorus in the fall...

I like the East vs. West thing. If so, what would be the dividing line, State College?

I am down for some East vs. West (although I agree that PA States kind of decides this also). I think since PA States did not occur last year I am still defending AM champ! Codurus and Pinchot are nice central courses where you get some good variety. Maybe Whispering Falls as well.

I think the west should get State College since the east gets Harrisburgh and has way more disc golfers and courses.

I'm in State College now but from Lancaster...where do I go?

Middlesex township in Carlisle and creekside in camphill could be center ground as well.

we can make this happen easily.....we just have to get everything organized and have everyone agree to a location and the time.

I say this happens right when Spring rolls around. Food, beer, disc golf....all we need is music and it would be a real party.

I'm tossing around all this banter, but when push comes to shove, there is no way I'll be able to leave an infant and a toddler at home with Mrs. bcr123psu to go get hammered and throw plastic. Pour a little out for me Pennsyltucky homeys.

What if we make one of the courses we play Jordan or Little Lehigh....would that make it easier?

Hailing from Lancaster but living in Pittsburgh, I'm in!
One of these years when the Phillies play in Pittsburgh, we need to do an event at Deer Lakes and then zip down Rt. 28 to catch the game in the city in the evening. Actually, I'll probably be doing that with my dad this year...anyone up for a doubles round at Deer Lakes on Saturday, April 7? Then, Phillies at Pirates @ 7:05pm.

I have an idea for the PA rumble. I say we do it like the President's Cup in ball golf. Two points for a win. 1 point each if you tie. Each player puts his/her name on a piece of paper. The Eastern PA player's names go in one hat and the Western PA player's names go in another. You pick a name out of each hat simultaneously and that is who your competition is for that 18 hole round. Each day we play two 18 hole rounds. At the end of two days we tally up the points and see which side comes away the victor. How about that idea?
On a side note....if anyone aces during their round...they get two points no matter what. So you could actually tie the match but win in points due to that ace. Or you could lose the match but tie in points because of that ace. IDEAS??

If you are willing to organize it I am willing to play in whatever format you come up with. I just want to teach all the uppity east siders, with your awesome selection of courses and your much larger population of quality discers, a lesson ;).
West Side!!! (said in a thug voice)

I'll do my best. Ok....First point of order is we need to come to an agreed decision on the courses we are going to play. It has to be fair because there will be some driving to do for both teams. What would you say is the middle ground between the East and Western part of PA?

Gifford Pinchot State Park ;)

Gifford Pinchot or Codorus.
And I'd vote for seeding rather than random matches.

Hang on there...are you just limiting that statement to the NFL or are you lumping college in there too? Anxiously awaiting your response *cracks knuckles*

Ok...if we are going to go by seeding then should we play the first round as a tournament?....And the second round then goes by how we finish and group the matches down the list? The winner plays whomever is closest to them from the other side (East vs. West). For example, if a player from the East wins (shoots lowest score) the closest West player will go against him in the second round. How about that scenario?

Ok...I'm going to need everyone who is interested in playing in the PA Rumble to send me PM's so I can start getting a list together for both sides. Once I get a total number of players from each side I may ask a buddy to run some numbers on possibly getting some shirts made.
I need from everyone the following things in the PM:
1) Name
2) Location
3) If it works out...possible shirt size.

possibly could be down...definitely have to have some type of seeding since you dont want a rec/novice playin against Advanced/pro. Unless you break it down by divisions then go the presidents cup way...anyway i will send you a pm since im interested.

Ok..so far I believe that there are only 6 or so people interested in the PA Battle Royal. We need a lot more people to make this thing come together. Ask your friends if they would like to participate.
