Aug. 7 - 10 I'm heading to the Western side of the state and a bunch of us will be playing Leviathan, Beast, Beauty, Flip City, and more...

We'll be staying in Ludington Thur. and Fri. night and the Zoo' (my wife went to college there actually) Sat. night. Any advice about the area?

Well, there a few threads on this one already:

I am actually staying in Ludington for a few months(grew up here) and helping the guys who designed and maintain the Mason County Courses (Goliath, Beauty,Beast, Leviathan).

Here are my suggestions:
Take a whole day and play two rounds at Flip City. Take it slow and suck it all in. If you get back early play Beauty. Party in Ludington at the dive bars at night (Crowes Nest, Gasoline Alley, Micheals, James Street Station). The next day play Beast (the premier course at the park) then MAYBE Goliath. Leviathan is within the city and is also a must play. If you consider yourself good, play from the pro tees.

That my friend is my suggestion...and if you want a disc golfing tour guide let me know. :)

As I'm sure you saw I just got back from Michigan myself, I played Mason County "Beast" and Flip City. You absolutely have to play Flip City ( Read my review ). The Beast course at Mason County was a lot of fun and Hole #1 is amazing. I believe its the first letter hole that leads you to a small parking lot, keep walking to the road and look to your right and you will see the sign that leads you to the tee pad. I almost got lost and just saw it out of the corner of my eye. If you need anymore information feel free to PM me, I would be more than happy to answer any questions.

Dizz you should do a posting on your thoughts and comparisons of Idlewild and Flip, two great courses that stand at one and two here. Not a post on which one is better(because I still believe they are two different amazing entities) but how the feel of each stands with you.

I tell people to think of it as being able to ride in a '57 Chevy and a new Corvette. Both different in their own ways, but both equally great, also in their own ways.

That sounds good to me, where should I post something like that? And your right they are both amazing courses and have a lot to offer.

Should put it in the "disc golf courses" category. I think as more people play the top courses there will be some great insight into how they all stack up in differences, similarities, and feel. :)
