Was out at Hudson Springs Park (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=539) this afternoon playing a round, and saw a van with the "Flying Disc Magazine" logo on it. Thought there might be an event or something, asked the two people who seemed most likely to be assocated - turns out it was the publisher of Flying Disc Magazine (http://www.flyingdiscmagazine.com/) and his wife. Turns out they were on their way back from Michigan for a tournament.

I ended up teaming up with them and another local player they met, and we all threw the back nine. Nice people, and (editor) Rich had a killer drive.

Good to know the editor of the mag is into disc golf to that degree.

They mentioned he built the course at Pymatuning State Park (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=140) in PA. They invited me to play with them on their regular Thursday night games, which I am going to take them up on soon.

Very cool bro. Thanks for sharing that. I guess maybe you will have the inside scoop in the future. :p Just kidding.

Yep, World Championships (http://www.2008discgolfworlds.com/) were there last week.

Did you pimp the DGCR site to him while you had his ear? ;)

I've actually spoken with him on the phone a while back. I was considering advertising in the magazine but wasn't able to justify the expense. I opted to create minis and decals instead.

I did see that FDM recently registered here although no posts so far.

I sure did! He was talking about PA courses, and I told him about the great map resource on DGCR and how I was marking my courses in PA to visit, one of which was his Pymatuning Course. He said he knew of DGCR also.
