New course in Southern Pines NC

I hear that a new 18 basket course is suppose to be located in Reservoir Park off Hwy 22, I went there the other day and it has great potential for a really great course in a Long Leaf Pine Savanna type area. There are some fairly long down hill lines and nice views of the lake, 2 picnic shelters, rest rooms, a 2 mile walking trail, fishing, biking. This is a needed course to give an option to playing around the dumpsters in Carthage.

Sweet! I will check the park out this weekend when I'm down there. This area needs more courses. I like Carthage and a lot of work went into it. I would just change a couple of holes, like add a shorter tee for number 8.

the park is near Sandhills Community College and the Airport, if you know the area

I sent an email to the head of Southern Pines department of parks and rec and he replied that the consultant that laid out the proposed course at reservoir park had part of it off the property owned by the town so they are waiting for a redesign or layout. Their consultant has not gotten back in touch with them for a while now. I hope it goes through I was at the park yesterday and it looks like such a great place for a course.
