All,
The 2009 Beaver Ranch Fall Classic is being changed from a 2 day event to a 1 day event. This is due to challenges with scheduling of other events around the same time as the Fall Classic. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 and will consist of two rounds of 20 holes with varying layouts for each round.
Additional details to be posted no later than this weekend.
We look forward to seeing you at the Beav!!
Thanks.

I just signed up!
This is probably the most anticipated tournament I will play this year or at least it will be close to my most anticipated tournament of the year.

The Beaver Ranch Fall Classic is shaping up nicely.
We have world champions Kathy Hardyman and Peter Shive entered. This is in addition to the hot play of Geoff Hungerford and Mitch Sonderfan in their respected divisions.
All in all, we have 68 players registered with 11 days till the tourney. Registrations are coming in everyday so make sure to get signed up ASAP to reserve your spot.
There will be EXTRA CASH added to the pro purse as a result of sponsorships from O'Toole's Garden Center and one other (not sure of name just yet). At least $600 and most likely more!!
We have added a high quality cotton long sleeve T to the players pack (first 60 Am's registered get the players pack) in addition to the Zoka's dinner ticket and the Discraft tourney-stamped disc.
Disc Diva will be handling the Am prizes this year, which means YOU GET TO PICK YOUR PRIZES!!
Pro's can purchase 1 long sleeve T at $9 and 1 disc at $6 which is our cost. Additional quantities can be purchased by all at a TBD price.
I've added an Advanced Grand Master division. Sorry for not having that right out the gate.
GO TO www.ffdgc.net TO GET REGISTERED, PRE-PAY FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH, ACE POOL, CAMPING AND MORE!! DON'T WAIT OR YOU'LL MISS OUT!!

Is the course covered in snow right now? I saw some pics on the news last night of 5+ inch snowfall in Conifer. I'm sure it won't stay long but it was pretty crazy.

This may end up being my first tourney!!! Provided I can still register when I get paid on Friday. Now since I've never played in a tourney, should I probably just sign up for the rec division? I've been playing for a while and I think I'm pretty decent....but am not quite sure where I would properly fall....

Rec would be fine. You can always step up if appropriate afterwards.
You should be fine on Friday. We have a 100 max and are at 69 now.

Yeah, crazy weather the past couple of days. We did get about 5" yesterday and it's snowing lightly today as well. But it will all be gone in a day or so I'm sure.

it is supposed to be up to 75 on sunday, so that snow will be long gone.

So Ponto, because I am already registered that means that I get a players pack right? Or do I have to be one of the first 60 to check in on Friday or Saturday morning? Just making sure I get one of those. Also, just out of curiosity, which disc molds are you getting from Discraft?

Also, the registration says the random draw doubles on Friday is optional, but you can not register and make a purchase without paying for camping or a bed for a night...so I can't just drive up Sat morning and play?

The first 60 paid AM registrants receive the players pack. You are all set.

Not sure where you saw the camping or a bed is required. Camping is optional so of course you can show up and play on Saturday. You could also show up and play random doubles on Friday afternoon, drive home, come back in the morning and play the tournament.
We also have breakfast burritos and lunch available for sale. Neither of those are mandatory either.;)

Breakfast Burritos sound really good. But alas I think I will be eating breakfast with my parents at home before driving up on Saturday. I might also come up Friday as I would love to start playing more doubles.

I know this was asked on the Mile High web page, but are the pins in their location for round one at this point? If not, when will that happen?
I am trying to figure out when I might be able to get a practice round in this week.

Thank you all for signing up for or inquiring about the 2009 Beaver Ranch Fall Classic.
Please read through this entire post as important details are included for the event.
To see the latest registration, please go to http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=9507.
If you can not attend but are currently registered, please let me know ASAP as we have people waiting.
Here is the up-to-date wait list:
Darrin Vlcek
Mike Gomez
Logan Miller
Chandra Calvert
Gary Mullins
Tim Chapman
Philip Holmes
Luke Winkelbauer
John Chinnery
Eric Desch
Adam Sturm
Jay Morel
We will most likely be adding 1 additional hole to accommodate up to 5 more players. The final decision on this will be made in the next 24 hours and the next 5 on the wait list will be contacted to ensure they still want the spot. If not, we'll continue down the list until those 5 slots are filled.
I wanted to inform/remind everyone of a few details for the event.
Early Check in will be from 4-6pm on Friday at the Beaver Ranch main lodge. Normal Check in will be 7-8am on Saturday morning at the Beaver Ranch main lodge. If you don't know where this is, please follow signs when you arrive. Check in is not done up at the top of the hill near the restrooms. You need to check in at the main lodge.
We now have close to $2000 in donated prizes/cash for the event!! This is going to be quite an event with all the added cash and prizes.
We will be raffling off a brand new Chainstar basket. $1 per raffle ticket. You will also receive 1 raffle ticket with your players pack. Additional prizes will be included in the raffle. Bring your singles!
Saturday Lunch is available for purchase for $7 and will be brought up the hill in-between rounds. If you have not pre-purchased your lunch, you can do so at players check in. Lunch will consist of a fresh handmade ciabatta roll sandwich with turkey and/or ham, chips, a soda, and pickle. Given the fact that leaving the grounds for lunch is not all that convenient, you might consider this an alternative.
Saturday Breakfast will also be available at check in at the main lodge. Breakfast is $5 and consists of an english muffin breakfast sandwich, hashbrowns, and orange juice or coffee. These will be made to order and hot!
If you have not already paid for ace pool, you can do so at check in. The ace pool is $4 ($2/round). If no one aces in the morning round, it rolls over to the afternoon. If there are no aces in the afternoon, a CTP will decide who wins the ace pool.
Each registered player will receive a dinner ticket at check in. You are set for dinner but if anyone else would like dinner, the charge will be $10. Dinner is being provided by Zoka's Restaurant and will consist of something like baked ziti, italian salad, and rolls.
With the exception of dinner, open players are not receiving a players pack. However, open players that wish to purchase a tourney stamped disc and/or shirt can do so at cost. $6 for the disc and $9 for the shirt. 1 disc and shirt offered at this price. Additional discs and shirts will be offered to all at to-be-determined prices.
Keg beer and wine will be available and donations will be accepted for each at the awards dinner.
Anyone interested in camping may do so in either a cabin or bring-your-own tent. If interested, please contact Katrina Zechman at 303.838.3705. Tent camping is $7 per person, per night. Please inquire about cabin availability and pricing.
Thanks!!

I took the opportunity to play the beautiful Beaver Ranch course early this morning,10/5/09 and I must say WOW what a challenging, clean and most spectacular course I've played in a while. Regardless, during my round I was fortunate to find a disc while searching for my buddies around hole 10. There was no contact info on the back of the disc. The person who lost it could have been (and most likely) shooting at basket 12 also. Hopefully the proper person that lost this disc can contact me through the site here and if properly identified will be returned to it's owner. Thanks ~Evie~
