Three Park Throwdown

I haven't seen this event on here, and I don't really know all the specs., but Sooner Disc Golf and Popeyes is having a PDGA sanctioned event in Norman, OK this weekend, 15th and 16th. Players meeting at Griffin at 9am Sat. All three parks are played. Griffin, Colonial, and Lions. Wish me luck, it's my first tournament. If anybody wants to come, send me a PM and I'll get the details for you. I just don't have them in front of me.

LOL. I'd rather not talk about it. We had a blast. Kate finished 2nd in the women's division. I finished 7th of 10. Griffin was first and super windy. It ate most of our lunches in the novice. I was able to recover 7 strokes through Colonial and Lions though. The final 9 was really fun to watch, and I'll post pics tomorrow. They set up portable baskets around the pond at Griffin, and forced you to throw over the drink several times in the wind. You could dredge up a pickup bed full of discs after yesterday.

It really may be worth it. There were 6 women. 4 ammie, 2 pro. It was a good turn out and a fun tourney. Proceeds are going toward some new tee pads and signage.

I would assume Colonial, since 4 @ 5 (formerly 5 @ 6) are dirt and unmarked. 14 needs concrete as well. I didn't ask, but it seems the only reason to build new tee pads at Lions would be to build ammie boxes.

I should be more clear on this. I went from 7 strokes down on the guy ahead of me after the first round to 5-6 strokes up on him. I played consistant and he blew up.
