What does this mean? How do you do this and what are the rules? Anyone do this on a regular basis?

Loser gets scalped.

I believe you do a hole by hole pot, winner takes all each hole.

each hole is a skin. if you tie on a hole the skin gets carried over. each time someone wins they gets the skins that were available. the idea is to get more than the other person. we used to play teams for lunch, the losing team bought the winning team lunch. you play each other and not the course

So do you wager $1 a hole and the person who gets the best score wins the $?

its not the best score, its whoever wins the most holes. 1 skin per hole so 18 skins, say you tie on the first 6 holes the seventh hole will be worth 7 skins, or in your case 7 dollars. I used to play with a group of guys and we would do 5 a hole if you won it, but no carryovers. pay every 9 holes, my team got em for 35 on nine one time!

we were playin 3v3 so each of us three got 35 a piece from them, "pay partners"

normally you would play like .25 a skin or something like that...dollar a skin would be expensive...18 bucks for a round of golf if you lose all the skins..no thanks haha!

That is the most basic and cheapest way. Most people might wager $2 a hole. Whatever the group want. As said before, whoever finishes the hole in the lowest number of shots gets the cash for that hole. If no one one wins you go on to the next hole, if each hole if $1 and someone wins the hole they also get the other $1 that carried over. Great way to earn some bucks if you got game.

We play $1 a hole pay out every hole and money carries over if any two people tie the hole. It usually ends up pushing 4-7 holes and you get 1 guy that gets a $7 hole. Most you can lose in a game is $18. We all used to play ball golf so $18 is not much when we used to pay $60 for 4 hours.

The friends I've played skins with are cheap, so we played a quarter per hole, not much money just a little bit to make it interesting.

I'm trying really really hard not to make a cheap joke about the title of the thread.

Anyway, I only every play a skins game when I pull out the Ript Cards. I do like the idea of playing for money. Maybe everyone put in a dollar for new skins, and a quarter when it carries over.

On that note, I've also played for money in a four man, pick-up mini. Me and three friends decided to throw down five bucks a piece on nine holes. Winner gets $7.50, second gets his money back, and third gets half his back. The guy who kept missing his putts was out five bucks.

I like how it makes you feel the pressure like in a tourney. Nothing like a 25-30 footer for a bunch of skins

i had a friend hit a 125' with his putter through trees to wink 10 skins once, everyone else was pissed.

we play 5 a hole and 5 for best score after nine when we payed, on hole 18 i hit about a 100' shot s curve through the trees (still dont know how it went in) to go up one stroke so it was a ten dollar shot, their anchor hit about a 110 footer to save their ten dollars, so we came out even
