I believe Brad and Kenny were partners in one of the Major Doubles Championships a few years back. Brad can hang with Kenny.

For routine, he is the most consistent golfer that I have seen play. He approaches nearly every shot the same.
I've known and have played sporadic rounds with him for over 10 years. He is an amazing golfer and has always been cordial with me.

Matt, im unsure if you know about the sn thing.
Meltdowns happen to the best of us, especially when the stakes and self expectations are high.
From what i gather, the sn stuff is about integrety, a completely different beast.

So how would you like it if we had all those moments on tape and broadcast them to the world and then watched the conversation of people talking bad about you emerge? That would be terrible. None of us would like that to happen to us or wish it on anyone else. So why do it to Brad or anyone else for that matter.

Brad Hammock won last years SNPC Masters Division, without having any SN points.
Meaning he didnt qualify to play in the tourney, played anyway and won $1000.
After it was proven he did not deserve said cash he was asked to return it, he refused.
He took advantage of folks, lied and then cheated everyone else in his division.
Just google SNPC/Brad Hammock resolution for more info

how is his being allowed to play not the td's fault?
aPfaff
05-06-2012, 10:15 PM
So let me get this straight. He didn't qualify for an event. He lied about points for SN (which should have been monitored by the TD or BOD). He won the event (1000 bucks). Then after he won and THEY GAVE HIM THE MONEY they realized their mistake and wanted him to give it back, but he said no!
I'm not saying it's just the TD's fault but COME ON!

how is his being allowed to play not the td's fault? It really was a comedy of errors. The TD didn't check to see if players had points. They knew about the problem with Brad Saturday after the first round, but they decided it was a "board decision." Anybody who has worked with a board knows that making something a board decision makes it five times more complicated than it needs to be. The board drug their feet trying to decide what to do and hung the TD out to dry with no resolution on Sunday. They did a smart thing in not giving him the check after the event, but then it took the board until the Friday after the event to decide that they were going to DQ him. In the meantime the TD got frustrated waiting and sent Brad the check, negating the one smart thing they had done. So there is a lot of blame to go around for the whole mess, and not all of it lands on Brad.
Three Putt

Also, there was a lot of time wasted trying to figure out if Brad had or had not played in an SN event that year. The fact that no one from SN seemed to know or have a record that showed one way or the other is kinda comical.

Lewis
05-06-2012, 11:25 PM
The above is more or less the story I heard. I've also heard through the grapevine that the TD in whose event BH claimed to have played in to qualify is sure that he did not register for or play the event, and told the SN management in no uncertain terms when they asked him. But it was already too late.
If it's true that he has retired from disc golf, it may well have been a good decision. He always seemed like a friendly guy on the occasions when I met him, and I would not expect anyone to quit so suddenly after so long, but I can understand it if he decided to walk away from a sport that brought out his dark side and surrounded him with scandal.

re: Hammock's fraudulent 06 Pro Masters world title

had another player seconded a call on his behavior described below, he would've been stroked and likely DQ'd after the round. by the rulebook, he should have been DQ'd from 06 Worlds. the story as told to me by someone on brad's card was that only he called the infraction -- the other two players were more interested in not rocking the boat and they refused to second the call.
written by a different dude on his card during the incident: (http://www.sndg.org/forum/read.php?2,84643,84802)
"Brad, the self-proclaimed "Georgia Birdie Machine", fellow Capricorn to Tiger, the one who plays well when Tiger plays well (all excerpts from his "speech"), had a bad break on Hole 16 at Lake Olmstead on Thursday. His drive hit the basket, and then rolled about 200 feet OB into the lake. He settled for a 5. There was a two-group backup on Hole 17 and a steep hill to walk down to get to the tee. On a manhole cover adjacent to the trail, a stone cairn was erected, presumably by people hiking to 17's teepad. Brad took several vicious kicks to destory the cairn, and then proceeded to cuss at everyone who pointed out his behaviour, spreading FUs for all. He called one golfer a "fa---t" and threatened to kick him in the b#lls. It was a shameful display of immaturity.
Discussions ensued immediately with Brian Graham, and a "formal" discussion was held after the round. Brad claimed that he "stumbled" into the rocks and "accidentally" knocked them over. Along with about 20 others, I saw what really happened (no stumbling). A one stroke penalty could have been @#$%&, but consider this: On Wednesday, an open division player landed behind the cairn and was forced to throw around it, thus making this cairn an obstacle and part of the course. Willful destruction of the course is grounds for immediate DQ.
Brad was warned that his next outbreak would get him booted, and I played several subsequent rounds with the "nice" Brad, whose only negative comment was to ask me to "Not ask him stupid questions on the teepad", his response to my efforts to be friendly. It shows that Brad can act acceptably, and does not have to be a jerk. He is a great player, but has terrible sportsmanship. He did not even thank his sponsor during his speech. In Brad's own words, "Winning all the time is bittersweet". I personally would rather finish last, with pride, than first with none."

It'd be different if you were defending an Am player...but the dude is a professional and world champion. If you do any particular activity at an elite level your actions when performing that activity are subject to scrutiny and discussion.
It's not like we're talking about Tiger Woods and his personal life here...we're talking about stuff that Brad has done ON THE GOLF COURSE and they're not isolated incidents. He got into it with several people at this past Worlds in Santa Cruz as well, including a tour official.

The 2005 Worlds blow up at Nockamixon is said to have been rather amazing, excessive and prolonged in it's duration......supposedly it was after blowing up on hole 18. Those trees and Rocks are still there......I don't think he could kick those boulders anywhere :) I wish I had seen it

Before the "kicking over the stones" tirade, Hammock was known as the guy that went out the night before a tournament and did some unauthorized trimming of branch/branches/trees he didn't like.
I can't find any old references, but it was discussed on ning.com in March of this year. Just google for [brad hammock altered secretly] without the brackets, or maybe this link will work:
