i got a friend who has a plotter, and i'm awaiting his generosity to cut me some stencils i got drawn up, but i'm gonna give the hand cut dye a 2nd go

first hand cut dye i did was a yin yang, very easy, very pleasing, but it darkened too much of the disc, lots of woods here with brush etc. , so with the intent of keeping more "bright" color on the disc, i'm lookin for ideas on simple hand cut dyes

i dont have the patience to hand cut a M.C. Escher print
LMAO, i'll save the hard stuff for the plotter,

i'm lookin for ideas on easy to cut stencils , i looked through alot of photos and posts, seen alot of nice work, most of which i would save for the plotter

was thinkin for my hand cut job, i want reallll easy

ideas???

2 quadrants (first pic) is super easy, looks really cool when they fly and for the most part keeps the brightness about them. I also like this X sort of cross thing (second pic) one again, holds the major color, especially if you make it thinner.

i like alot of things
hehe, nothing hateful, or morally wrong...

i'm open for many ideas, i gotta bout 12 discs i'm dying, most with the help of a plotter, i'll end up dying some for friends too maybe, i've looked at so many tribal suns, flames....

just lookin for ideas, i too have lots o files, mostly vector files though, if you have some of the "good stuff" hehe, send em on over, my files are so unorganized though, but if ya need anythin, i'll hunt it down

i'd really like to have some nice vector files of chains, and baskets, anything DG related, as i'm only a few months into throwin so i havent looked much for any DG files, they seem hard to find though

any ways, just wanted to get a thread going about real simple designs, easy first timer kinda stuff, i was thinkin like stars, circles, targets, iron cross...
anything thats easy to trace and cut

i'll keep the complicated stuff for another thread , plotters change the game...

If you go REAL simple, you can often get a design that looks great in the air. See the above post with the four quadrants. Or try a couple of simple stripes, or a big fat spiral. Throw an oval on there and it will look weighted.
Dye half the disc.
Dye a crescent shape on the disc--- like the moon, or a bitten cookie.
Trace your hand in a certain shape, or as your grip holds the disc.
Make an "ace" disc dye -- pick a suit, dye it, and put an "A" on there somewhere.

No one can tell you what to put on a disc, especially when your only criteria is "simple", so just go with something really easy that you can try again if you do mess it up. You'll get a cool dye done, and have a disc that looks even sweeter when it flies.

once you dye them you'll loose them......or maybe that's just me.......

Go for a huge eyeball that takes up the whole disc. Never seen it, but I bet it'd look cool and wouldn't be too difficult, or would it?
