Hola
I throw 100m ,330ft, with both backhand and forehand, my main drivers are

Backhand Surge,Sidewinder,Old TeeRex, Predator
Forehand everything above and a Force.

I have a feeling though that im really not quite up to theses discs; these are all long distance discs but i also occasionally throw my tbird just as far. I only throw the force forehand as i can throw anhyzer more easily forehand. I recently threw a destroyer about 300ft on an anhyzer only to have it drop out the sky like a bird having suffered a heart attack mid flight.

So really, what ambidexterous (im not a believer in forehand and backhand discs, there all the same, just the more stable the more flex you get) discs are going to give me more carry? The faster the disc the less it will glide on down in my experience.

I know that more spin and power would solve this, but i think that i have been sucked in to the faster heavier longer school of thought.

gracias

i think you're Surge is a middle of the road disc - not too overstable & not too understable - built for a decent glide - sort of like what you're looking for

the point of discs like destroyers is to go FAST for longer - getting most distance out of their fast stage - then not rely so much on glide. until you can get the fast speed - they just behave like a slower very overstable disc

i always thought it was odd when my tbird would outdrive all of my other discs. i think it might have to do with the fact that my BH armspeed can only max out that particular speed disc at the time- and any faster discs thrown at that armspeed will only see a marginal increase in distance?

- i might be answering my own question but do the higher speed drivers not respond as designed unless they are thrown at their desired speed? Until then they fly as far as your best thrown slower disc? similar to taking all of your discs out of your bag and throw them with the speed of your putter or midrange - all discs except your putter and midrange will just fade hard - and their distance won't be much greater than your midrange.

Faster discs are also more nose angle sensitive, so if a faster disc only goes as far as a slower disc that might also mean you aren't getting the nose down enough on the faster disc.

I don't recommend anything faster than a Teebird or Eagle (DX Cheetahs, D Cyclones and DX Gazelles are my favorites) until you're throwing your drivers 330' or so. By that point you'll have a pretty clean throw and will be ready to work more on nose angle more.

Try throwing a roadrunner for a backhand shot, also , in my experience anyway, I have a "weenie arm", and just don't have the distance most of my friends do, but can hold my own with a 163g. However, if I throw forehand I need a heavier disc. Most of mine are about 171g, however, I am throwing 168g in destroyers. The disc is important, finding what stability works with your style, but I found that weight is just as important, don't let your pride get in the way like I did. If you have friends who have lighter weights than what you have see if that helps.

i hear you guys, big time, ive only been playing a couple of years and i could hardly throw at forst, so i have become accustomed to a steady progression in distance up to now, hence the drive for max distance. Im sure its a common miss conception that faster disc go longer, i read that ken climo can throw stingrays 400ft, i know hes the best, but hes not the longest thrower in the game.

Time to drop the disc speed and throw the right disc, although still as hard as i can!
I gotta get the guns to go further.

Champ Teebird it is then for the mean time.

If you're willing to use DX Teebirds instead of Champion, Zonedriven.com has a 5-for-$25 deal on x-out DX plastic. Having 5 of the same disc @ the same weight makes field practice much more productive.

most discs can be thrown forehand and backhand. i have star skeeters and they are impossible to throw forehand. or at least thrown flat

i definitely have a borderline weak/ up and coming backhand - i have a strong forehand - i just bought an Xcaliber and i love it -i can seriously just let it rip and try to think about keeping the nose down -Goes real far - has awesome glide- i was used to the Flick - which went fast and far - but seemed to die in mid flight- this goes at least 50-100 feet further. I have two Destroyers which i like - but i need to learn to throw them with Hyzer as i seem to turn them over- i can toss them with a 'flick' - and get some decent "d" but i really would like to get more lower body into the throw. using a flick is like driving with a 3 wood in ball golf - it's safe - but you know you can get more distance
