I will be in San Francisco visiting my girlfriends family this weekend. Flying in Thursday and coming back Sunday.
I will be playing Golden Gate Park Friday morning at 7:30am if anyone wants to meet up and show an outsider around.
If not, any pointers to this course?
TIA

definitely look at the map of how to find the course within the park before you go. This park is huge and finding the course is difficult. I've been there 4 times and had trouble finding it everytime.
Otherwise the course is pretty straight forward. Especially the front 9. The back 9 could be a little confusing. Thus... from 9's pin walk past hole 1's tee-pad and down the sidewalk/old road and look for 10's tee on the right. 11 tee easy to find... from 11 pin walk bak toward 11 tee and see 12's tee up on the hill. And look for 12's pin up the gully on the way over. After 12 you pop out on a sidewalk near the street and find 13's tee-pad up the sidewalk a little bit. 14 easy. after 14 go down to right at edge of hill... 15's tee down below. 15 and 16 easy to find. After 16 walk up past 14's basket and up the gravel/dirt road to 17's tee on right side. 17 is a dope ass hole. Walk back up hill 1/2 way to find 18's tee-pad. After 18 walk out to sidewalk and around to the left to car.
I did all that from memory... but it should be accurate. Yup, just read it again and it's accurate.
You're lucky. Golden Gate is the bomb! I wish I could guide you...
Check out this video on youtube... lot's of it filmed there. It's funny to see the disgrace they make of 11's tee-pad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnxoEwv1fRc
Hope this helps.

Oops... after 18 walk out to the sidewalk and around to the right to find the car. You would have seen it anyway.

Bump just in case someone local to San Fran missed this post before. Would love to have a guide to play. I think I'm just going to bring 2 or 3 discs.

Wont need anything too major. the holes average between 250 and 330. With a few long ones being down hill (called par 4's depending on position). There is lots of demand for different types of shots though... so bring versatile plastic. Something you can do anything with. If I had three discs to chose from I would brong my wraith, leopard, and aviar.
Geck with BENFTS he is in that area. And Mike Shoys. Both cool guys I have talked to in the past.

I have pm'ed both of them, maybe I will hear back. I know friday morning may be a hard time for some people to play with work and all, but it's going to be my only free time to play unfortunately.
I also already printed out directions and a course map so hopefully if I play alone I won't have too much problems navigating.

It's a beautiful course... Have fun!
Report back about how you liked it.
And, don't know if you like beer, but there are a lot of great micro-breweries in the bay area. Check beerme.com to find the regional beer guide.

So I'm back from vacation now.
Played one full 18 and then the front 9. wish I would have had more time because the course was great!!
Met a couple locals (i'm not sure if they are on here or not). I think their names were Steve and Joe, but I suck at remembering names so that could be totally off. They were great guides.
I would love to play this course again.
