Making a trip to Nebraska, USA at the end of SEPT. I will be running around the Grand Island area and want to hit as many courses as I can while I am there. I will for sure go to Ravenna, Hastings, McCook, & Kearney, but might be willing to travel further.

Doses anyone have any "You have to Play" or "Don't Bother" suggestions for me?

Thanks in advance brothers!

Thanks for the thumber, but since it was my 2nd ever review, it may be a little bit overratted and actually only be a 4, I'll go back and clean it up after I play it again.

OK, well, I got off the plane and just got to Omaha, Nebraskas' Seymore Smith Park (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=428) course and finished just before dark. I have the review done and heading to bed. I've got a possible 5 to get in tomorrow.

Oh and one more note...I not only forgot my damn camera for this trip, I forgot the cord to upload my crackberry photos too. UGGG. :(

Zzzzzz

Well, some how I got the hardest day to complete, in is beyond me! I thought I was going to have to defend myself at the Chapman, NE course. LOL I mention that in the review, mostly as humor. I felt bad, but it got my first real 0 rating. :(

The Superior, NE course from the shorts was fun, but from the longs it was the nuts! What a great little 9 holer, even with one basket missing it was a blast!

I am dead to the world and heading to bed as soon as I get caught up on the newest posts. I did end up taking some pictures with my cell phone, so they will get posted eventually. They just won't be as good as my camera would have been, My bad! :o

Geesh! I was so exhausted from the day, I forgot to mention the craziest thing that happened. I aced hole #7 at Lake Hastings, Hastings, NE. The wind tossed it up and down a few times until the fade finally kicked in and that was it. So a lucky one, but I will take it just the same. ;)

LOL, bah that's easy....just a take a nice firm grip, lineup properly, start the x-step and close your eyes real freaking tight. Your ears will do the rest. :D

5 more courses done today....well I guess you could call them courses.

OK, so here is a fact as I see it so far.

If you are on Highway 30 going through Central Nebraska and you see there is a 9 hole course not to far off that beaten path...pretend it is the source of the 21st Century Plague and avoid it at all costs.

I am actually changing my plans around for Wed, as I can not take another course like the ones I ran into today and yesterday. My reviews were so low, I am not only sure to get some hate mail from a local player, but the scale doesn't go low enough to rate it fairly. Seriously!

Some of the courses should not even be there, because they will give the sport a bad name. Someone is going to hurt somebody and they will blame the sport before they blame the person throwing the disc.

Anyway, my review of Cottonmill in Kearney was interesting too. LOTS AND LOTS OF BUGS...I have all the luck. I was wanting to play that thing a couple of times at least. Oh well, at least it was a real course. Now if I could just get all the mosquito bite swellings to go down some, I will be set for maybe hitting the Lincoln area tomorrow instead of going North.

Anyway, I have no idea if anyone is actually reading this hogwash, or if I am wasting my time writing to myself. Is that as bad as talking out loud to yourself? hmmm.

PEACE!!!!

Congratulations! I'm looking forward to following your reviews. Didn't get a chance to play anything in Nebraska on my recent trip, but there's a chance I could get there next summer.

See you in the morning, or afternoon depending. Last summer I got my first speeding ticket in ten years in Nebraska on my way to play Sydney NE. I'll ease of the gas tomorow. Gonna play Ogallala Optimist Course first get my putting kinks worked and warm up, and then head down to McCook.

Well with your injured foot and my lack of sleep (and finally today) sore index finger from rubbing the edge of the disc, we will be a couple of old geezers out their in action too. LOL See you around noon. I will be trying to get in Holdrege and Oxford before hand also.

Well, hopefully I have gotten some of the dogs out of the way, so you don't have to try those out. I really enjoyed the little 9 holer in Lincoln, Scott Whitcomb Memorial (Tierra Park) (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=839).

Anyway, sorry I missed you in SD. Did you ever update your blog on that trip? I want to read more. ;) Take care bro!

So after abandoning anymore 9 hole course on HWY 30 or the vicinity, I went to Lincoln today instead. I played both Lincoln courses and the Beatrice, NE course. That was lots of long holes. But this was much better. I am going to hit my 3 courses West of here tomorrow (Oxford, Holdrege, & McCook) and I will try to get in Treasure Cove in just before my flight on Friday. I wanted to try and get 20 courses in, but I may have to settle for 18 instead.

Until tomorrow...

No. I basically got lazy on my trip... by the time I found someplace to eat supper and then get into my hotel room I was too tired to spend any time blogging about the day. I shouldn't have overpromised what I planned on doing before I left. I'll know better next time, and hopefully I'll have my wife with me... I'll just make her do the writing. :D

So McCook was a great course to play and I even liked the little 9 holer in Oxford.

But the real story goes back to me saying I wasn't going to play another little school course. I LIED! I had just enough time before sundown to squeeze in Sunrise Middle School Course (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=1885). Instead of rehashing all of this hilarious pin placement stuff that I wrote already, just read it HERE WITH PICTURES (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10736&postcount=118).

Tomorrow is the last half day of the 5 day trip. If I can squeeze in 2 more before getting on the plane...I will have gotten 20 different courses played (often more than once) done in 5 days. I am exhausted at doing this and doing all my driving for work to. It was a great experience that I will never forget, especially that middle school....TOUCHDOWN!

McCook was a good course! I am happy I made the drive, it was totally worth it. It also didn't hurt that I played with a dude out there that made me laugh the whole time.

I had a great time too bro. How are your ring tones treating you? :D

We were so wore out by the end of it. We should have met there first and then played the smaller course heading back home. That may be a lesson learned for the future. ;)

I hit Oak Hollow DGC of Plattsmouth NE and Treasure Cove (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=835) of Council Bluffs IA on this last day.

We have a thread on some of the best 9 hole courses and Oak Hollow was mentioned. I was realy a fun course. The elevation changes were great on every hole. The grounds were kind of a trashy mess, but that was easy to over look with how great the holes were.

Treasure Cove is still under construction, but you can sneak on a few holes and still manage 18. The temporary holes (T1-T4) are falling in at 7-10 and they were excellant. I loved those holes. The hanging basket of the original #9 was a nice thing to finally play. Maybe slightly anti-climactic, but hey, I can say I have played it.

The final day of this long haul is over! I some how managed to get 20 courses played in 5 days, even with some multiple rounds at some of the courses. I plotted as much of the info as I could to update the hole info and so forth.

Take care.
