For anyone interested...
I was googling random "stuff" and found a new proposed park in Midland, NC that is set to include an 18 hole course.

That's all I have found so far. Hopefully more details to come.

I went to the public presentation on Wednesday night for the proposal for this park. They had surveys for people to fill out where you selected from three columns (Very Important, Important, Not Important) next to a long list of items. I was very happy to see "18 hole disc golf course" as the very first thing on the list.
I didn't get the impression that anything was set in stone though. I haven't been to the website yet. I was going to look it over and post it here but ya beat me to it jedwards :) The parks and recs department is going to be at the Cabarrus county fair with an information booth setup and I believe the surveys will be available there as well. The fair begins this weekend and runs through to Sept. 19th and it's located at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center on Hwy 49. The family and I will be going to the fair. I plan on stuffing the survey boxes like an Iran Presidential election with "Very Important" checked next to 18 hole disc golf course. :D
Based on the pictures of the land and the site survey it looks like a great place for a course. Tons of potential. There is a 10 acre lake there so hopefully it can be incorporated in the course. One note though, disc retrieval will be highly unlikely if they go in the drink. The lake is an old rock quarry with a depth of 75'.

I'll have to hit the fair this year and do some ballot stuffing as well. I have already done their online survey and the only thing I checked in the "what activities would you like to see at the park" was the 18 hole disc golf check box. Maybe with some luck it will come to fruition.

That's great.... Little bit of a drive for me but I would still pay it a visit; more than 2wice if it were a great course.

Sweet, I drive through Midland about twice a week. Are there still plans to make N. Cabarrus into 18 holes?

When No-Cab becomes an 18, I will probably be there almost everyday!
I was out at No-Cab last week and saw numerous bags of quickrete in certain spots in the park. I was thinking in my head, "HELL YEAH! They are finally putting in 9 more holes on this course."
Turns out they were just "exercise stations" along the walking trail (which I found out through further inspection) that they were getting ready to assemble, and the quickrete was for the base of the "stations"! It shatterd my hopes and dreams, and I cried myself to sleep that night.....

LOL!!!! That's hilarious.
Yeah I played out there on Labor Day and saw they had installed those stations.
I too am looking forward to if/when they install another nine out there. I haven't heard of any updates. But if they do put up another nine, I hope they are of the same caliber as 4, 5 and 8. That would be most excellent!

For sure, discchucker....
I wish they would have put the time/effort and $$$ into 9 more holes at No-Cab instead of those exercise stations (that will probably just end up getting minimal use anyways). I mean, if I wanna work-out I will just join a gym. Those stations will just end up being perches for lazy birds that said birds will decorate with fecal matter.
I WANT 9 more baskets out there! Hopefully the discgolf fairy will grant my wishes, thus restoring my hopes and dreams.

Here's a little bit of good news I found today. 18 hole course is allegedly part of Phase II...see below:
