Pre-order your personalized DGCR Bag Tag V! [Archive]

It's that time again. If you missed the first 4 rounds of orders, the tags are back for a fifth! You can also pre-order your 2010 travel tags which should be coming in sometimes in the next couple of weeks.

The tags are once again available for pre-order in the DGCR Store (http://www.dgcoursereview.com/store). I'll be taking orders for at least 2 weeks or until I hit 20 or more pre-sales at which point I'll place the order for the tags. How long will that take? I'm not really sure. Could be just 2 weeks, could be a month. When I have enough orders I'll make an announcement for any people that are still on the fence. Also, here's what they look like:

They do! :)

I think in the old travel tag thread the idea came about. I guess it would be possible (if you traveled a LOT) that you could fill up a tag and you'd need a new one.

Yea, there is a spot during checkout to put that there. You can pre-order the personal tag, the 2010 Travel Tag or both. Just add what you would like to your cart and then checkout.

Yea, I realized that on the way home as well. I'm sure I'll make it up that way at some point again. The tags were reasonably successful as far as distribution and swaps go that I will try to make a more official feature on the site rather then just the forum thread. Stuff like a travel tag map and other things like that which wouldn't require upkeep except for you and another player putting entering your swaps (and having zip codes in your DGCR profiles). Just add that idea to the mountain of work I have with the other features :)

Well you would only swap the 2010s with other 2010s otherwise the numbers would get confusing. I'm not sure when they're going out. I was planning on releasing them in October.. kind of how new cars come out a few months early.

Why couldn't you swap a 2009 tag for a 2010 tag? Haha.. I'm sure that tag would sell well on ebay. It's actually from a logistics standpoint as far as trades go. I am planning on formalizing the whole thing with some built-in site features and it would be a lot easier for me (and you guys) to just deal with the tag numbers and not worry about the year. I haven't given enough thought to the logic behind doing it yet but I think keeping the trades confined to the same year of tag will make tag tracking features much smoother and easier to follow.

Seems kinda silly to me that if you happen across another DGCR member in your travels and you have a 2010 tag, but they have a 2009 tag you can't swap... besides I'm sure you'll just include a pulldown menu with the tag year selection in whatever interface you implement. :)

There would be a year pull-down. Tracking swaps the current way via the forum thread would be kind of a pain with multi-year tags. I'll have to make a poll later to see what people think. The 2010 tags will look the same as the 2009 except for the year. I like the idea of changing up the colors though. I'll have to do that for next year. Too late for the 2010s since I already placed the order.

They won't accept my credit cards, because of my business account with them is froze. Reason is I run a Non-profit, that under current fedral tax laws, does not require me to file for tax exempt status, cause it's a church, and automaticly exempt. But that's not good enough for them, so they won't release my account.
No wonder other churches I know of quit using them and went to Google.

Any other way I can pay for one Tim?

I'm having a hard time believing that I missed ordering a personalized tag again! UGH! I check this thread all the time, and I go a couple weeks of not checking it and miss it. Guess it's my fault. No blame on you Tim, I'm in for the NEXT order of tags.

Click on thread tools above your post (top of the page) and subscribe to the thread with "instant email notification"

That way you will get an email every time someone posts in this thread and always be in the loop.

So on the back of the Travel Tag do I now right my DGCR# and date on the left side?

And when I swap it, they write their # and date on the right side?

I have an eerie feeling that I will go a whole year and that tag won't get swapped.

I think CA is a minority on this site compared to the midwest and east coast

I hope I'm wrong.

I freaked out yesterday. I went out a couple of days ago and played in the rain. Wasn't really paying attention to anything other than scoring well and staying dry. Well yesterday I went out again (sunny day!) and on the second hole I noticed my new bag tag was gone! I retraced my steps but didn't see it. I figured it was lost the other day in the rain. So now I'm totally bummed out and almost just went home but I kept on playing. I saw another guy playing a few holes over so I went over and asked if he'd found a tag. Of course he hadn't. So we talked a bit and went on our way. I finished the last hole and was getting ready to walk off when he yelled at me and said he found the tag. wOOt!!

Can't believe he found it (especially since I'd probably walked by it and I was actually really looking for it). Anyway now I don't have to wait for another sale. And I put it on something other than the little beaded chain too.
