The flyer is now up for the South Carolina Disc Golf Championships. It can be viewed and downloaded at

For those who have played this event before, you'll see some changes at Owens Field. In particular, the have been renumbered to straighten out the flow, holes 2 & 16 are gone, replaced by a new hole 2 and a new hole 18 that should be pretty cool (I've only seen it in the design phase, but trust me). Furthermore---and I know I said this before but it's bound to be true sooner or later---this may be the last chance to play Earlewood before some changes come. The building is scheduled for demolition and a new, much larger building coming (which we hope won't affect holes 1 & 10, but you never know), and a walking trail to be installed winding through the park (not sure how this will affect us). At the very least, for the very nostalgic, it's likely to be our last tournament hosted in the current building.

For those who have not played before, this event features 2 rounds each on 2 very different courses. Earlewood is short and extremely hilly; Owens Field has some monster holes and very technical holes, and is completely flat. Expect to use every shot in your bag, and perhaps to make up a few new ones, if you want to win.

In between the two courses, the State Fair will be going on, if you want to make your weekend a little more festive.

Talked yesterday to an Owens Field player. The new hole 18 tees through a tunnel in the woods, out into an open area, then hyzers (RHBH) back to a wooded green with a sheer dropoff behind it. A little elevation on a course that can really use it. The new hole 2 is the old 16, reversed, and has gone from being an easy birdie to one that takes precision. Also, hole 3 basket has been moved left, out of the woods to an open area and a slope (I think), much improved.

Though this event does not fill, we would be grateful if folks who know they're coming will go ahead and pre-register. It will make Saturday morning go smoother---for us, and for you.
