Hey guys, I'm in Dallas for the weekend and I'm looking to get a couple rounds in tomorrow. I'm staying just north of downtown, most of the courses in the area seem to have good reviews, what do yall recommend for somebody's first taste of Dallas DG?

Also, is there a big retailer around that carries stuff besides Innova? Maybe some Latitude 64? Thanks.

Play it again sports carries the biggest selections of discs in the area. For north of downtown I would suggest Harry Myers in Rockwall, I'll be out there on Saturday. That's the best North of Dallas. South of Dallas would be Cedar Creek Lester Lorch Beaver/Coyote and then towards Ft Worth is Veteran's Park.

N Dallas courses I would suggest...
Harry Myers (Rockwall)
BB Owen (Plano)
Paschall (Mequite)
Jimmy Porter (Carrollton) -- Just OK but I love it, first course I played.

Play it Again in Carrollton has "the largest disc selection north of Austin". They usually have one of everything from most manufacturers.
Title Disc is running an event at Paschal in Mesquite all weekend. Flex start doubles all day Sat, B tier on Sunday. He will also have a good selection of discs.

What type of courses do you like? Are you any good? What freeways are you near? Do you want to catch a local mini?

Lester Lorch in Cedar Hill (not creek) is the best in DFW. 2 great courses.

Harry Myers in Rockwall is NE of Dallas and worth the drive, it is home to some of the best holes in DFW, but the only other good course near it is Audubon and that is only really fun if you can throw far and don't mind crappy baskets.

Way North is McKinney with the newer Towne Lake course that is a lot of fun and a challenge from the long tees (and recently mowed) and the old pitch'n'putt Alex Clark that is a lot of fun but not challenging.

If you are off 35 or Dallas North Tollway, Lewisville Lake Park is a fun park and the "old man" has some cool Dynamic Discs stuff for sale at some of the best prices around.

IMO don't bother with the Carrollton courses, BB Owen, Shawnee.

Porter isnt horrible but there are alot better. Greenbelt is not mowed and it sucks anyways. Lake park is cool, Mckinney and of course rockwall and cedar hill. There is a mini at lakepark on Sat and at towne lake sun morning

Giles, thanks for the tips. I went to that PIAS and WOW, never seen such a used selection! Took me an hour to sift through all the used bins, came away with a good bit of solid plastic. I'll probably be playing with some college friends tomorrow so we will probably just go to the closest course, but the trips already a success for me with that store run.
