Hey everyone I'm going to be in Gulf Shores, AL next week what local courses should I play while I'm there? I'll have my Garmin with me so an address would be great too. The only courses I seen close were the two courses at the air force base. What are the rules for playing on them? Or can I even play there?

Yeah, you can play the Blue Angel Parks. My sister and her family played DG there earlier this year. They enjoyed the courses, but they only play a few times a year, they aren't serious DGers.

Thanks for the quick response. Did they have to pay to play?

Whoa, My sister and her family played there earlier this year too. How weird.
They do have a place nearby. They didn't have to pay to play though.
There are 4 courses according to them within 30 miles. All of them flat and sandy and not a lot of trees.

Drive to Mobile. There are lots of courses there and they are varied---short, long, open, wooded.
A little closer, on my vacation I found the course in Fairhope to be worthwhile. Not great, but worth playing if you're there.

No problem. I honestly don't remember about the pay-to-play, but I don't think they did.

Indeed!

Blue Angel Park courses are nice, but Mobile is just as close and has a lot of quality courses.

Cottage Hill is a great course

Hobbit is another really good course, but can be hard to find your way around without a local. Winter is the only time to play it!

Chickasaw is about 15 miles farther than Mobile but this one is really fun
