Just kind of getting into dyeing, and was wondering is there a source around to get disc's that are bare??? Or, do most people just take the stamps off standard discs with acetone???
Thanks

I have never seen bare discs but with about 3 cents worth of acetone you will have what you need. :)

Discgolfcenter.com (http://www.discgolfcenter.com/) sells bottom stamped (http://www.discgolfcenter.com/main_displayProduct.php?p=43&PPQT2=38) disc. The top of the disc is blank, where the bottom has the stamp. I think they only come in DX plastic, so this might be something to consider.

First off, DX plastic is not good for dying.
second, if you go to Walmart and get a "Mr.Clean Magic Eraser" that will take stamps off great. They only cost about $3 and one will last a while before it wears out.
Star and Champ Plastics work the best for dying. Also, most Star discs are white, so that will give you a blank slate to work with.

Go to a hardware store and buy a 1/2 gallon of acetone for $5. Should last you a LONG time.

I don't know about that... most of my star discs are not white.

Certainly there's no shortage of white Star plastic, but I don't think most of it is white.

The magic erasers do work well...also if your ever trying to remover sharpie from a disc, lighter fluid works on dx plastic...

I've had pretty good results dyeing white DX plastic with one color. It takes 3x longer in the dye bath than Star plastic. Goo Gone is a very strong all purpose stain remover but don't leave it on too long cause it will blister the plastic. Be very quick with acetone on star plastic or you'll leave a color residue behind that is very hard to remove. Thanks for the idea about Magic Eraser, sounds like a better alternative to all the petroleum distillates.

The Magic Eraser works wonders. Takes the stamp off in about 30 seconds. Plus its safe to use.
