I've seen some pretty creative items made into bag tags here in the New England area......... J-Park is famous for it's cedar trees so when the town cut down the dear ones, we grabbed a limb. Will Mehls sliced it up and burned each one individually.........April Showers was the initial tournament that decided who got which tag. There are 20 pictured here but 36 were sold this year. Not too shabby for a course that just opened in late 2006.

That may look like Curious George but he was actually named Thelonius and was the #1(and only) "tag" for the first few years.......... having him on your bag was a great accomplishment because you had to beat the best to earn him.

Back to back rounds Theo was chillin' on MY bag at the extinct Woodstock Rocks course.

That's sweet...Over the next two year my Action Research Project (read: Thesis) is going to be utilizing park space in the city of Canandaigua...

Essentially I'm going to try and get Canandaigua to put a DG course at the Frank A. Baker Memorial Park, and try to get FLCC to buil one on their land as well (that should be easy. I'll just say "Well MCC has one...should work within a couple years)

if that happens I will form FLDGC the Finger Lakes Disc Golf Club. Geneseo is building one (that is so far terrible I hear) there's one in Sodus somewhere...Naples has one... they're somewhat spread out, but they'll have loyal homeboys that'll buy some tags. Maybe I could get FireFinger to blow some glass tags? *grin*

would glass tags be a good idea? Those things would break to easily I think or chip...they would look sweet but not very functional ya know?

it was kind of a joke as to what kind of "tags" those would be...more like...functional glassware...*ahem*

but you could probably make ones that were round chunks like a large marble with something with a number and name embeded in them...that wouldn't be too fragile.

On another note..I just got my DGCR travel tag and personal tag...both extremely badass!

Glass tags totaly work. If they are blown well they will hold up great and last for a long time. My local club uses glass bag tags, and I don't know of one breaking. In our club all the multiples of 11 are the "functional" tags.;)

I don't belong to any clubs personally, but here is the tag I made for Midnightbiker's club (which he gracefully sent me an honorary tag for my bag):

As well as the Kingwood bag tag already posted, this is my other bag tag. I didn't do to well at my last tournament, but its a cool looking tag I think:

I'm sure I could convince him to make REAL tags..and as somebody said before...not all glass is fragile, just have to know what you're doing. Like the beads in a hippie necklace...

I could PM Mike and see what he could pull for you if you'd like.
