for the best concentration of top notch courses camp at the grange in spotsylvania- there are 2 full course plus a par 2 tiki course on site and you'll be near hawk hollow and loriella as well.

for the best camping combined with dg i'd probably try something near lynchburg which would put you close to several good courses (including timber ridge in bedford- pm me for contact info for that one) as well as fully up in the mountains.

I agree with Biscoe about hitting up The Grange. Two great courses and Tiki on the property, and Loriella and Hawk Hollow just a hop skip and a jump away. Pratt Park in Fredericksburg would also be in range.

I'm not sure which way you're coming from or how long you have but I'd try to find a way to hit the Grange and Paw Paw, it's only 30 minutes over the VA/WVA line. 36 punishing holes and good fishing nearby in the Potomac and Great Cacapon Rivers, and as scenic as it gets. The Grange also has some good fishing nearby with Lake Anna and the Rappahannock River.

Paw Paw, in West by God Virginia. Home of The Woodshed (top ten course on this site) and The Whipping Post (tougher than The Woodshed to me). On private property near Cacapon State Park (WV). Has to be seen to be believed.
