I would be interested in getting a group together who's interests are focused on adding new courses. I am in Denver, CO so I would like to start there, but who knows...
Let me know if anything exsits or if anyone is interested in starting something like this.

it would be nice to pool our thoughts and get as much help as we can. being in michigan i can't really drive over to CO. and help. but i can offer my thoughts. and any info we put together can be used by all to help them get a course near where they are.

I'm part of a group called the Disc Golf Course Design Group (DGCD) which is a group of course designers and promoters. Chuck Kennedy, John Houck, Harold Duvall, Stan McDaniel, Dan Doyle and over 100 others from all over the country in this group. The main goals are to design quality courses and to get new courses installed. I highly suggest that you join the DGCD or at least contact this group. They are already doing much of what you propose. There is a one time membership fee of $49 or $50. If you're offering to recruit additional manpower to get new courses installed that's always a very big help, and a necessary component.

Add Tom Monroe, and I'm sure I've forgotten others too.

There's not really a link since it's a private group that you have to pay to be a member of, but if you email me at playdiscgolf(at)gmail.com I'll forward your message to Chuck Kennedy and Tom Monroe and get you their email addresses. They handle the membership so you can get the info from them.

What does the membership get you? What are the membership funds used for?

I'd have to let Chuck Kennedy give you the full answer to that one.
Here's what I've gotten out of it, though:
1) Access to a number of design resources, especially files, that aren't available to the general public. One of the most useful is the "Hole Forecaster" design tool.
2) Access to discussions with the top course designers in the world. You can keep abreast of important design issues.
3) If you're a designer it gives you a credential and a venue where people will go to find qualified designers.
I'm sure that Chuck would add more.
