Anyone ever use night vision goggles?
Was just randomly thinking about that and thought it might be cool.

Thats a good idea. I just got a pair with my copy of modern warefare 2. Those are kinda of crappy, though. Maybe with a nice pair it would be better.

Doesn't night vision rely on heat (IR)? Not sure if it would help you w/ inanimate discs?

Yeah, just stay away from the eyeclopse ones. My son got a set last year for Christmas and they DO work, just only for about 15 minutes on 5 AA batteries and it says not to use rechargeables?
If you are going that way, it would be no time that the next step up might pay for itself.

Not sure of the science but know they work on inanimate objects. There is always light, and they just amplify that I beleive.

no... pretty sure they just take whatever light is there, and enhance it like thousand fold. cuz if you're in a completely pitch black chamber, night vision will not work at all.

but the point is still there.. it may be hard to find, since nightvision doesn't really contrast colors very well.. (i don't believe)

Thats where I was thinking of like a dog or cats eyes, how the reflection shines a little brighter. Maybe a little sparkle on the disc.

The best way as of now that ive seen is with those light up discs that have little batterys built in. They work a lot better than the standard glowies as far as being bright and easily findable, but i dont think theyre pdga aproved yet?

I wonder if the night vision goggles would help spot a glow disc easier and from further away?

I played a night glow tournament recently and I was suprised to see that the standard glowies really arent that bright at all, and kind of a pain in the butt charging them every hole with a flashlight, especially when you toss em and theyre airborn then you cant see them until their lying on the dark ground, then their noticable again. The guys with the "light up" style discs were having no problems at all seeing those discs and the sweet thing was watching them whiz threw the air, they create pretty sweet tracers in the pitch dark!! Obviously this was an unsanctioned event as these style discs arent pdga aproved yet as I said a few minutes ago.

I currenty using glow discs and bracelets.
What I would like is to pick up some back ups in lighter weights and attach those screw in lights. If your able to pick up the disc at six to ten bucks plus the light would still come to less than a glow disc.

Definately are more realistic ways to go about it but was just thinking of the cool factor.
If I was out playing with glow or light up discs and ran into someone with night vision, I would be like "Wow! These guys are so much cooler than me. They have technology." :D

I can see it now. The cops show up because of reports of strange people in the park at night, and they show up, and everyone in the park looks like this:

The drivers are the best, putters are good, leave the mids alone.

Coolest way to night disc? Easy. With an owl trained to land on your disc. An owl trained by.... Chuck Norris!
