Actually, two years ago I posted my first attempt at making a scorecard app and I received some great feedback from the Northwest Disc Golf News forum.

Two years later, I'm now announcing a major overhaul...

I've pretty much taken all of the feature requests over the past two years and designed a new app around them. It is clean and simple, yet allows you to record as much detail about your game play or practice sessions as you would like.

Over the past few months I've been heads down nights and weekends trying to get this ready before Memorial Day weekend. I'm really happy with where it is at...

- Support for unlimited players and custom course lengths
- Record throw level details such as penalties, flight path, and disc angle
- GPS integration for distance measurements
- Note taking
- Several sharing options
- Disc Inventory
- etc.. (see the full feature list on the Apple App Store)

Ducky Disc Golf Scorecards Website

There is still plenty of things to do and up next is statistics and reports. I would like to invite you to check out the app and let me know what you think. Next week I'll be posting some free promo codes to the forum to celebrate the official launch of Ducky Disc Golf Scorecards.

I have recently put the mighty Comet back in my bag, and I forgot just how fantastic this thing is.

While I am using it to work on my form, we've had some spring winds kicking up locally and I am curious as to what other Comet throwers use as the OS complement to it. I currently use an MVP Tensor, but the feel in the hand is extremely different. I have been looking at Roc3s and M3s, but I feel like the fade might not be as much as what I am looking for.

Any thoughts/suggestions here would be great. I prefer Champ/Opto/Z plastic, and I am trying to keep things around 170 grams to keep me honest as far as form goes. Thanks!

I'd prefer 7/10 or higher, and 171+ Weight. Colors will be subjective, no ink if possible.

I know there's a score keeper section on this site but I wanted to share with others who might be interested in a score keeping report to run on...

I know there's a score keeper section on this site but I wanted to share with others who might be interested in a score keeping report to run on their Mac OSX. This is only for the real nerdy or ones who use Mac and want to have a new way to see their progress over time.

Download the 2 files:

scores_mac - Main script to run

my_scores - Score entries

Put both files in the same directory on your Mac, open Terminal and navigate to the location.

Make sure 'scores_mac' has permissions by doing this:

chmod 777 my_scores

Now edit the 'my_scores' and enter in your round. It's only setup for scoring for 18 holes played.

Score per hole is entered after the date and after that put the total.

Example:
[Date(MM/DD/YY)] 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 54 |[Course Name], [City], [State]

or

05/22/13 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 54 |Sharp Springs, Smyrna, TN

After you have your score entered save it and run the "scores_mac":

./scores_mac

You will see a nice report with breakdowns for Avg per Course, Year, Seasonal Play, Courses played by State, number of aces, birdies, pars, etc..

View example report based on the 'my_scores' by clicking below:

Example Report

There is another report at the end if you want to see Course Averages. This show you a per hole average on courses played more than 5 times. * denotes your best ever score.
