You have no control of the sun rising everyday (or at least I hope not, unless you live near the polar caps, ok maybe a bad example, but go with me on this one)

They don't have any control over the sun either.

I'm really talking about those people who say, "but I'd rather be safe than sorry," or those that fear what would happen to them if they abandon a faith.
|
But of course those people
never consider the possibility that the faith they're in could be the wrong one! Maybe the Jains are the ones that are right and all you meat eaters are doomed.

I wouldn't go to say atheists don't believe in souls. It may not be the same idea as theists have though.

I would. Anyone that actually fits the definition of an athiest wouldn't believe in supernatural things, like souls, angels, gods, unicorns, fairies, jesus or the elves of Rivendell.
And what do you mean, "not ... the same idea" of what a soul is. The ONLY way two people can discuss something is for both to understand what exactly the words you are using mean. If you can change the definitions of words on a whimsy, then you aren't communicating. You're just making noise at each other. The religious are especially guilty of changing their definitions as it suits them. As soon as you shoot down their concept, they immediately change it to something with lots of meaningless, vague and misused words to sound mysterious or deep.
