Ooh, I wish it could be that simple but I don't think it can.

This is going to be a "highly" unpopular opinion amongst our atheist and agnostic friends on here, but I think everyone raised in a Western nation (or at least in this country) should be open to the idea that whether they like or not, they're what I've deemed "cultural Christians" in that growing up in a society steeped in Judeo-Christian ideology they've carried this with them as learned behavior.

Even if you were raised atheist from day one, you can't live in an atheist bubble completely devoid of all Christian markers. Subconsciously, you'll pick up enough "pidgin Christianity" to seem normal in said society.

I will take it one step further. Atheists are minority.

How many of you put that you are and Atheist on your resume'?

I know I don't feel like it is a good idea, yet. You can be treated like crap by the religious people in your work place. Many of them see atheists as devil worshippers or just plain evil, because they don't see a difference in that and just not believing. Atheists as a society only want separation of church and state and that all people are created equal. We want people to take care of each other. We don't care if you have churches and believe in stuff as long as you are humanly moral about it and you conduct yourself legally.

For that matter, I wonder how many believers but their faith down on their resume'?

That is a direct answer to your question. A little exposition would be to say that I've come to the conclusion that the more I ponder my existence, the more futile I think the pondering is.
