Three Putt

OK, here is what we are going to do.

Usually with eight teams we would switch to two flights. If we do that, five of the eight teams are nine or more strokes out with three weeks to play and basically out of contention. However, if we switch to three flights we can have a two-team A flight with a four stroke spread, a three team B flight with a six stroke spread from first to last and a three team C flight with a five stroke spread from first to last. Everybody is in contention for something. I like competition, so that's what we are going to do.

The problem is payout, since I don't magically have more money for the payout. The general payout is one Star or One champ/one DX or two DX discs per player. For the top flight we will leave that alone. For the two top teams nothing will really change at all.

For all the rest of the divisions, the payout is going to be one DX disc per player. It is a lot less that the old payout, but it's what we have to work with. Even at the lower payout, a bunch of players who had no chance to win anything now have a chance to win something. I like that compromise.

So three weeks to go! Play golf!

Smack talk is...eh, whatever. A Flight is over. The 45 Cook/Renaud put up last week was pretty close to the 43 Scott and Ish put up in the Spring since we are using #6 long and the white tee on # 5 is back as far as it is now. It was pretty impressive.

B flight appeared to be one stroke after league, but we had a scorecard malfunction so the spread is actually two strokes.

Jake and Chris have come on strong in C flight, but they both have to go to a conference next week. That stinks.

Usually we play according to place, but with the light situation I'm not going to worry about it so much. Hall/Wiggins & McCauley/Naji will be on a card since they are close. Long/Aromando & Conklin/McDowell will be on a card to decide the C flight. Everybody else can just card up and go as usual so we don't run out of light. We might run out of light anyway.

I thought we were gonna be near the course record last night. Shot a 20 on the front 9. Just couldn't quite get it done from the longs. The conditions were TOUGH.
