We have a Club meeting tonight, 6:00 at 1405 Highland Drive. Bring meat to grill, a side and some beverages.

Aside from hanging out (which we do well) we have some business to decided on (which we don't do so well.) Basically the issue is as follows:

• The Lion's Club is requiring that we carry insurance, which is going to be $450-$500 per year.
  
• We only have around 20 members, and at $20/membership we have to dip into the league fees to even afford the insurance.
  
• If we get the insurance, we will have zero-zip-nada-none-no money left to buy merch to run events. We will have to bring in a vendor like DGM to hold even a little event.
  
• Once the merch is handled by an outside vendor, we will make zero-zip-nada-none-no money off events. If you figure in the sponsorship we will have to get, running events will cost us money. Unless we get a significant spike in membership, we will run in the red.
  
• If we continue to be an official club and don't get insurance, we can PDGA sanction events and cover tournaments. The Saturday morning league will be dead.

On the table is the question of what the next move is. We can:

1. Keep going, bite the bullet to pay for the insurance and ask DGM to partner with us for merch at events. We would still have memberships with club discs and tags.
   
2. Keep going, forget the insurance, cancel league and PDGA sanction our events. We would still have memberships with club discs and tags.
   
3. Disband and then as individuals try to help DGM host events here next year. The league would "officially" be cancelled, but people can show up and play so it would de facto continue. There would be no fees, no club discs, no bag tags.

Or possibly something else we have not thought of.

It looks like we are going with option #2. We will use the PDGA sanction to cover our insurance woes. The "official" Saturday league will be cancelled. I'm sure people will still get together and play, but it will not be affiliated with the Club and the Club will not collect any fees from it.
