So now I have to ask... Why is this the only course where drinking and Marijuana use is so common that the users no longer even attempt to hide their activities? I have become numb to it all and no longer even get offended by it. The guys are fine people and all, but they will take out their little one-hitter pipes and toke up on the teebox in front of everybody before a throw. It's more common to see a player carrying a tallboy than a bottle of water on that course, so much so that there are not 1, but 2 guys that pilfer through their trashcans daily to collect the aluminum cans.
What the hell is going on? As a non-smoker and a dad with kids, I try to keep my boys away from that stuff. Every time I step onto that course I feel as if I've fallen into another dimension where the laws against drug use no longer apply. The final nail in the coffin for me was when I heard the apt named nickname for the place that just fits like a glove. "Seven Tokes". Yep, that pretty much sums it up.
I’m not trying to tell any of you what to do with your private lives. If you want to smoke or drink at home or in your car, thats your business. But when you bring it out in public for everyone else to see, you're basically telling us that you don’t give a crap who knows how you roll. I'd love to hear from some of the club members out there to get the other side of the story. And let's all try to act like grown ups and keep conversation this civil.
