I've resolved to quit cheating on #1 at Ber Juan. I have no depth perception, but I really don't think there is any way that it is 200' to the creek from the short tee and it's probably just a tad over 200' from the long. It's an elevated tee, so it plays even shorter than it is. It's a putter shot, and I should throw a putter on it. You can get that weird wind off the end of the building, but unless it is really howling you should still get a putter over. Given that a putter isn't going to have as much right to left play as a driver, you should be able to set a putter over the creek and have a putt for deuce. So, I resolved to throw a putter on # 1.
Since I live there I have gone over to practice a few times. So far I've thrown # 1 90 times off the tee with Wizards and a Vibram Ridge. I've been over the creek and made the putt four times. Another nine times I made it over the creek and missed the putt. I've come up short of the creek 19 times. I've thrown in the creek a staggering 58 times (good thing I got some waterproof shoes for Christmas) although a lot of those creek shots were drives that flipped, landed short of the creek and rolled in.
So...either I'm going to ditch this resolution or it looks like I'm going to take a lot of circle 4's out there this year.
Anybody else make a stupid disc golf resolution?
