The weather is looking good for the Lakeview course championship. Katie and I are definitely heading up to play if anyone else is interested.
Yeah man, I think I'm definitely going to go.
S**T I forgot I told my Brother in law I would take him to Deer Lakes. So I"m out for Moraine. GEEZ hmmm... deciding between Moraine or Deer Lakes?? What a great problem to have!
This weekend there are two good sanctioned events scheduled somewhat in the area and beautiful weather in the forecast.
The first is the Sky Rock Ascension just down 79 in Morgantown WV. This will be played on the fairly new
course. I have not gotten a chance to play there yet but the WVDGA always puts on a good show with great Am payouts (unlike some local tourneys).
Sky Rock Ascension
The second event is quite a bit further but worth it from what I hear. It's the Spring Chicken down in Reedsville Ohio. This tournament is two rounds of 24 holes and is played on the the renowned
course with their fancy 6 different pin positions on each hole. I will be attending this one.
For anyone staying around here and playing the Deer Lakes Monthly - Good Luck!
I've played Forked Run and it's a nice course. I really liked hole 12!
Another event coming up is the
Pleasant Day in May
down in Fairmont WV on May 14th. This tournament is put on by the WVDGA and is always a good time. It's a pretty easy drive to the course. I think once you get on 79 it is only three turns and your there! The tournament will use both the
courses. For anyone who has not played these courses they are tons of fun. Even though they are in the same park they are absolutely nothing alike. For anyone nervous about playing the Fairmont tournaments always have a good spread of first time tournament players and experienced discers. Also the WVDGA has a history of excellent payouts for all divisions.
This saturday members of the PFDS will be on hand down in Point State Park to demonstrate disc golf and to generate new interest as part of the Venture Outdoors festival (or something like this). If you are interested in helping out our just want to check out what is going on contact
The Deer Lakes Monthly has been moved to Sunday to accomodate this.
