Channahon was a good time last weekend. Glad your brother got to join us. What a difference a week can make. This spring has mostly sucked so far. Hope we get some warm, dry weather soon.
I've made disc golf my life. For the previous 3 years I've worked 2 jobs that provide room and board about 6 months of the year, no bills, bank $$. The remaining 6 months of the year or so I've spent traveling for the sake of DG, playing as many courses as possible all day every day.
Better late than never as they say. Maybe we could check out that new course in Lowell next time we play at Lemon Lake. That would get you one step closer to hitting the 100 course mark. I hope that course goes back up in Oakbrook soon. I hope the new design is not a mostly wide open course.
I lost one of my favorite discs in the high grass at Goose Lake in Roselle back in July 2008. I looked at least 45 minutes for that thing before I gave up in frustration. Talk about a buzz kill. I had a full day of disc planned after Goose Lake, my first stop of the day. Well, I had to adjust a little and break in another disc to be my driver. I have lost a three or four "favorite discs" since then. That is part of the game unless you play at boring, low risk courses all the time.
Unfortunately I didn't find your disc, but thanks for the offer to let me keep it anyway. I just figured I'd ask since the only one I found with a number on it turned out to have been sitting in there for two ears since the guy lost it. Good disc golfing to you too
Well, I am up to 74 courses played. 2011 has been a cool year for disc so far. I have managed to play more courses this year than any other year since I started playing in in 2005, including 14 for the first time. I finally got a chance to play in Wisconsin. I also played a private course for the first time this year. I made it back to Anne Page Park (EAST and WEST) for the first time since 2007. That course is definitely longer, but I enjoyed my return. I hope to hit another course or two I haven't yet played before the year is over.
I recently played in snow for the first time. i played at Sgt. Means Park in Olympia Fields, Il. on MLK Day. I played The Oaks in Mokena, Il. on Feb.4. I am ready for winter to end. I want to start playing disc golf at least once a week again.
