the mountwood monster

I am planning to be out at mountwood memorial day weekend, and was wondering if they have done any work to the course in the last two years. I was out there in the late summer of 2012, and one guy I met said they were planning on adding concrete tees. Since nobody has posted a review since last spring I figured id ask.

I guess I should have posted the course's location for those who don't know of it. Its in Waverly, WV just across the ohio river from Marietta, OH.

I've only been there once, about six months ago. I'm pretty sure they still had crushed stone tee pads at the time; I could be wrong, I played several new courses during that trip and they kind of blur together. Regardless, the course was a lot of fun and very challenging, a true WV course.

thx. Yea it was such a fun course that the pads really didn't bother me much.

I actually played there yesterday when passing through. The course was in great shape, but be ready for a hike. Tee pads were crushed gravel, but we didn't have any trouble with them. The lengths of the holes on here are way off. I think hole 12 is listed at 600 or so feet, and I would easily put it at 900-1000. Hole 11s tee is to the right of hole 10s basket through 2 ravines. That one took us a while to find.

Overall though I had a blast. With some more work, that course could easily be in my top 5.

yea I got lucky the first time because i couldn't find the first tee. So I stopped by the lodge they had course maps there so I didn't have any troubles navigating, once I found the 1st tee lol. I think the course has multiple tees and pins so maybe the signage hasn't been updated? yea this course has about everything you could want in a shot, up hills, downhills, across ravines, big open bomber holes tight woody holes.

if anyone affiliated with the local club that built this course sees this you guys haven't yet updated the dgcr course map since moving up to 18 holes.
